La Mucchia is well located, offers professional yet friendly management, clean and lovely apartments that are equipped with everything one could possibly need for their holidays. Restaurants are just minutes away, should you decide not to cook within the apartment. The pool is a relaxing haven that overlooks the hillside of Cortona. Each apartment features an outdoor seating area with table for those who choose to eat their meals al fresco. La Mucchia is absolute perfection....

Our stay at the beautiful Farmhouse La Mucchia is something all of us will remember for the rest of our lives. It was everything we had anticipated and more. We enjoyed visiting the local markets for our short stay; meeting and shopping at the stores and eating at the local restaurants. It is strategically located for day trips to beautiful hill towns in Tuscany and Umbria.
Some thing which you might consider for future guests, from and American point-of-view are: Take a longer stay, one week is not enough.

La Mucchia Caza Vacanza was the perfect start for our three week tour of the beautiful Toscana region. Owners, hosts and brothers Uri and Zeev greatly enhanced our experience by providing much needed insight to our planning for daily excursions into the most beautiful rural acreage we have ever seen. This caza vacanza with all the Tuscan style and flavor in it's detailed conversion proved an excellent daily departure point to view the area's wealth of history and beauty. Uri admits to having been somewhat influenced by "Under the Tuscan Sun" in this affable duo's decision to create the comfortable lodging we enjoyed. While Diane Lane's Polish crew share the same nationality as our hosts - one a builder and the other an architect in their previous lives - she had an easier starting point. See their web site (http://www.hometuscany.com) for the amazing transformation. If you use this area as a destination point then you can get by with local transportation, but if you wish to venture to the many other beautiful locations in Tuscany you will need a car and an attitude adjustment behind the wheel. What constitutes reason for road rage in the USA doesn't rate a mere toot of the horn in Italy. You seasoned citizens will only have to revert to your driving habits at the age of 17 to succeed with stick shift and agressive driving. Our entire Italian vacation was a dream come true and we remain most grateful to our hosts for the personalized treatment we received.

My husband and I stayed at La Mucchia for 4 nights in early May. We were overwhelmed with the assistance and kindness of our hosts Uri and Zeev. We had lost our credit cards in Milan (pick pocketed) which curtailed our initial plans to hire a car from Avis in La Spezia. We were keen to have a car in Tuscany to explore the many villages beyond Cortona and thanks to Uri we had a car for 2 days from the local dealership!!! Another special treat were the beautiful pastries delivered to our door on the first morning. We really felt at home and enjoyed the casual and relaxing environment of the house. We stayed in room 8 (the attic room ) which was perfect for a couple. We loved to cook our meals in the evening using the produce we bought along the way each day. I would thoroughly recommend La Muchhia - though you do need a car.

We stayed 3 nights in the beginning of our trip, and after two more days in another place we decided to return for 2 more nights. The farm house is located near the A1 between Rome and Florence, and between Siena and Perugia. The room we stayed (out of 8 in the farm house) was lovely and had an equiped kitchen, which served us greatly for preparing breakfasts.
The owners were warm and friendly, and gave us great tips for traveling in the area (how to get to the cities, restaurants, a winery in the area, and a cheap shopping center).
We mostly enjoyed driving through the roads between the villages, and not necessarily taking the main roads to Siena or Perugia. These roads offer spectacular view and they are the best way to feel Tuscany.

My wife and I along with her sister and her husband have just returned from a week at La Mucchia. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the accommodations, but most impressive was the help and advice we received from Uri and Zeev. We followed thier suggestions on places to visit and restaurants in which to eat. We were always delighted that we had followed their advice. I would definitely stay at La Mucchia again and will recommed it to friends.
