Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Borgo dei Sensi. 1. Our expectations were unreasonably raised by the photos on the website and description of the Villa. Expectations could have been managed by prominently stating extra charges for ammenities, many of which excited us but whose cost proved prohibitive for our budget. 2. Upon arrival, we found a smelly interior and shabby cleaning job indoors and out: the swimming pool was filthy. 3. The mosquitos were horrendous and we should have been warned and/or steps taken by the landlord to solve that problem. There were several specific issues with our room, which was nicely situated by itself with a beautiful patio. 4. However, the toilet seat was broken. 5. The room infested with large wasps. We had to remove one or two a day. Since I am allergic to bee stings and mosquito bites, this was disappointing and dangerous. 6. There was a very flimsy, non-sealing screen door which was totally unsatisfactory and should be replaced with something sturdy that closes properly. The room was beautifully decorated and had no windows. Thus the French doors had to be open as they were the only source of light and air circulation; thus, the faulty screen door was a huge problem. 7. The room was poorly lit as there were two small lamps (one shed soft red light, which is nice but not without other adequate lighting!) and no overhead lighting.
