Four weeks into our European expedition hotels were tending to have a certain sameness about them. That was until we spent two nights in this little gem from the 2nd to the 4th of August. The hotel is located near the end of the main mall (Corso Umberto) and ideally located to access restaurants, shops and places of interest. There is even a supermarket just around the corner. We walked down to the beach which took us about 25 minutes but the bus or cable car are easy to access if that is more to your liking - there are a lot of stairs on the way back!
The rooms are not overly large but very comfortable and it is one of the few hotels we have stayed in which have tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The staff were exceptional - extremely enthusiastic and very, very helpful (such as recommending fantastic restaurants and pointing out home made gelato shops). However the real clincher for this hotel is the breakfast served inside or outside on the roof top. If we could have stayed all day I think we would. The hot dishes are included in the price and include all manner of choices but the crepes (a huge variety to select from made freshly to order, and each named after a celebrity who had visited Taormina in the past) were sensational and accompanied beautiful pastries, bread and fresh rolls, cheeses and meat, croissants, brioche, gelato, granola, fresh fruit and fruit salad and a myriad of other items too numerous to mention - all fresh and delicious. At night you could sit out on the rooftop and enjoy a drink while watching Etna glow and grumble in the dark. We left feeling absolutely wonderful for the experience.

We travelled to Taormina in a rented car from Catania, and pre-booked one of the hotels parking spaces.Be aware if you haven't been to the area before our sat nav couldn't pick up which road we were on as they are so close together and we were going around in circles, this was the only small hiccup of our trip as after a phone call one of the receptionists met us at a junction and guided us through the maze. This is the sort of attentive service you can expect, nothing is to much for the staff who are exceptional.
The rooms are small but very modern and comfortable.
The rooftop terrace is a must at night as you can see the lava issuing from the top of Etna whilst having a drink from the well stocked honesty bar.
TOP TIP: check which bands are playing at the open air Greek Theatre , we were lucky enough to see Simple Minds

Too often, little details are overlooked resulting in a hotel that falls just disappointingly short of its potential. Not here. The roof terrace is open to enjoy a memorable breakfast and a sundowner watching (and hearing) Etna threaten. Our clean, bright room had a balcony onto Corso Umberto, lively and fun - but don't expect things outside to be hushed by midnight. Mainly though, the recommendations of Simona and Olga and their genuine interest in our visit is what turned a good experience into a great one. Well done.

This hotel is clean, charming, has attentive and knowledgeable staff, a great location, and a wonderful breakfast that is included in the room charge. We had a lovely room with a view of the sea over tiled rooftops. In addition to the buffet selections at breakfast there is a menu with various crepes and egg preparations. The breakfast area is on the hotel roof in a partially covered outdoor patio with views of the sea and of Etna on a clear day. There was a tiny, very slow elevator which starts on the second floor that we didn’t use except at check in and check out. The desk staff and the breakfast staff were very accommodating; for instance when we departed for the airport at 5:30 in the morning, a desk person greeted us with prepared breakfast packages for both of us !

We spent a week in Sicily and our first stop was in Taormina, I read every review and was lucky to find this beautiful boutique hotel right in the center of town. Excellently located on the Main Street with rooftop terrace for breakfast ( that was amazing, made to order menus ) beautifully decorated and an excellent staff. The receptionist Maria met us in the town square b/ c we were lost and even helped me carry my luggage ! She also gave me excellent suggestions for lunch and made an amazing reservation for us for dinner, a very special thank you to her for all this and more as she made sure we were able to check in a bit earlier than normal so we could relax after a long over night ferry ride and drive from Palermo. Our room was just lovely and had a terrace that overlooked the Main Street and real feather pillows! It was a real treat to have a really nice high-end hotel right in the middle of town with that kind of assistance and attention to detail . I have told all my friends about it and am already planning a trip back! Thank you for making our romantic getWay weekend so wonderful ❤️
