Everything about Hotel Sirius is first class from the common areas to the rooms. The staff is efficient and helpful. The hotel is in a very quiet area about a 10-minute walk from the center of Taormina. The breakfast is excellent. We will definitely return to Hotel Sirius.

Excellent hotel with wonderful staff and very accommodating
Good basic breakfast but would be sensible to get there early as they don’t always replenish!
Very comfortable bedroom with good shower would heartily recommend

We have been wanting to go to Taormina for a couple of years and eventually ticked it off our list this year and so happy we did. We stayed at the hotel in September for 1 week and on first impression when you get the entrance gates of the hotel the views are to die for. It is a steep walk down to get into the hotel but we didn't mind that. Looking at other people's reviews I noted that there were a couple of sea view balconies that wrapped around some of the rooms which I requested via the hotel months ago if it was possible but on arrival to our room we got a sea view room side onto the sea so not front facing. I was a little disappointed as we had paid for a deluxe sea view room and I mentioned to the receptionist about my request however she just said you have a sea view room. From her reaction I think they had forgotten to note my request from months before and didn't really have any explanation. The room was spacious enough for both of us with a really nice traditional Italian bathroom. I knew from the photographs of the rooms that they were not going to be luxurious but as long as they were kept clean which I could not complain about as the room/bathroom were cleaned every day as hotels in popular tourist destinations in Italy can be expensive. The only two areas concerning the room that I believe need to be looked at are the air conditioning and the matresses. Even with visiting the hotel in September which is starting to become cooler than the peak months I found the air conditioning was a bit archaic as we would never find the room that cold when the air conditioning had been on for several hours which it should have been and even during the night we had it on full and it wasn't that cool that we had to switch it off which we normally find each time we go abroad each year. Also I think they need to invest in getting new quality matresses for the beds as there were not comfortable to lie on. We did love the homely feel of the hotel walking through the different areas/corridors/library area and then entering down into the pool area which was never too busy and really peaceful with the added addition of the pool bar where snacks/drinks were served. The breakfast I thought was very adequate with cereals/fruit/some hot food/hams/cheeses along with a selection of different Sicilian cakes/pastries each day which appeared to go down well with guests. The serving staff were very pleasant with the young man who served us each day in the breakfast room taking both our suitcases up to the top gates which we didn't expect at all but was very good of him. The location of the hotel is so good as you are just round the corner from the bus station which is ideal if you are getting the bus from the airport which we did and inexpensive too as well as any trips you plan to go on which commence at bus station. It is also a good location to walk into the centre of beautiful Taormina so all in all we couldn't have chosen a better spot for a hotel with the closeness of all the amenities. One last thing to mention as a recommendation to the manager/reception staff is that they need to be a little less abrupt when speaking to guests as this would certainly help in their overall reviews as customer service is key. We will return at some point in the future to Taormina as we loved it and we would consider returning to this hotel.
