We stayed 2 nights in Taormina. The hotel is in a perfect location with a stunning view of Isola Bella. Our room was on the top floor as I had requested, and because of this, it was not too noisy. However, before arriving, I was under the impression that you could park our car outside the hotel but this was not the case. It’s on the busy coastal road and we had to leave our rental car in an awkward spot to check in because we arrived when everybody was at the beach. The staff took our car keys and later parked the car for us in a better spot (to their credit) but it made for an unpleasant surprise on arrival. The hotel is better if guests don’t have a car. It’s 5 mins walk from the funicular which takes you up to Taormina itself, very handy.

Room Tip: Definitely a room on the top floor and at the front of the building.

We were a party of 5 & stayed at this hotel on 18 Oct 2012.
We found it really very clean, & fantastic value for money.
There are some stairs that could be a problem for some people , but there are lifts to all floors.
the breakast was very good & informal.
The views for the hotel are fantastic.
the staff are very friendly, i have stayed in 3star hotels before, but this was better than a lot of 4 star hotels that i have stayed in, will go back for sure some day.
We couldent find anything bad about this hotel at all.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front of the hotel

If you are visiting Taormina I suggest that you stay in the beach area and take the Funicular up for the afternoon/ evening (cost 4 euro each). The beaches in the area are beautiful, particularly the Isola Belle and this hotel is right above it. You do have to walk down a number of stairs to reach it. The hotel is also connected to the Lido Copacabana and have a shuttle to take you there.

The pool is also a very welcome retreat after being in the heat all day.

The hotel itself is fine, reception was good, very pleasant and helpful staff. Our room was not tiny, sea view is a must. I can't imagine looking out over the pool when the view of the water is so amazing. The bathroom is a bit small but overall the room was adequate. You are in it so little. They do have air con so you can close the window at night to keep out the noise.

Parking is a challenge, we had to park quite a way up the road and then moved it when all of the day visitors left.

The breakfast was extensive fresh squeezed OJ, soft boiled eggs, fruit, cereal, breads and made to order cappuccino.

All-in-all a good place to stay.

Room Tip: Sea view room

Toarmina is a beautiful gem of a town on the coast of sicily and the Hotel Isola Bella certainly does it justice for the price range!

First Impressions:
ALWAYS ask for a sea view. We arrived in the afternoon after a long drive across from Palermo and opened the electric shutters to reveal a view that was just magnificent, and more than made up for the worryingly narrow little streets and my atrocious parking (there wasn't an inch of space to park, so I parked across the driveway and let the staff handle the parking, which they did. On my return the car was beautfully parked right by the entrance steps where it was easy to load and unload the luggage)

The hotel is located directly across from the Isola Bella island and the view encompasses the whole bay.

The bedroom was fairly basic but comfortable, and the view more than made up for whatever it might have been lacking.

There was a full width balcony from which to enjoy the view.

The bathroom was a narrow corridor and felt quite dated, it could do with a refurb.

The reception was clean and friendly, and the staff have good english.

The breakfast room overlooked the terrace and served a very decent breakfast - with plenty of space to seat everyone, coffee on demand (as opposed to out of an urn), freshly squeezed orange juice etc...

The pool was lovely and clean, but was hidden around the back of the hotel, it was a very decent depth (well over 6ft) and very enjoyable to swim in at night.

I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Always ask for a sea view.

Ok so the room was tiny, but everything I needed was there and it was clean. Then I looked out the window to the most glorious view of the little island Isola Bella and the always-stunning Mediterranean. It's an easy five minute walk to the fews shops and restaurants and quite a steep walk down to the beach, where rather than sit on stones all day, I hired a deck-chair 'vale la penna'. The room was a little warm, definitely not frosty AC, but the staff were accommodating and friendly, and the breakfast more generous than most. At the price it's worth a stay; and there's a lift.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view.

As echoed by many before - get a room with a sea view otherwise you will be facing a hill and the swimming pool.if u don't you will also miss the amazing sunsets and rises from your room!

Despite the grubby exterior from the street. This hotel is a great little place to stay. The staff were very friendly, attentive and served a good and varied breakfast to suit all.

Some complained about steps which is a little odd as this is not an issue but be warned, rooms with a view are noisey, however, if you are from a city you won't notice.

Some previous commenters are quite negative and need to be put back in their box!

This is a 3 star hotel- its clean, room sizes are good, has a pool, a galley esc bathroom and a Large balcony and all for very little cost!!

This is no grand plaza hotel but in a fabulous town like Taormina, swimming in the sea, eating in the array of lovely family run restaurants and getting the sky lift ( 800m away) at night to watch the night flyby is what this place is about.

Welcome to the Sicilian culture for half the price!

Hotel well within expectations for its class: clean, quiet, good breakfast. We had a partial view of the sea, but that didn't bother us, still was a good spot for a early evening rest eating peaches and watching the fishing boats. The evening staff member (we didn't get his name) was friendly and helpful, gave us a hand with train times and other information. The minor disadvantage is the location in relation to the town centre - you either have to shell out 6 Euros for a round trip on the cable car or do like we did: climb the hill. Which is not that hard if you are in shape, 20 minutes easily.
