We had a great weeks holiday, location and views magnificent. Pool is fab if you are fit enough for the steps and remember it closes at 5pm this time of year. Don't miss a cocktail on the terrace, through the 'bar' (one man and a trolley after 4pm) and out onto the veranda, view all the way to Messina and mainland Italy.
Near bus station but this is very small and no disturbance at all. Cable car to beach just up the road and is great fun.
Taormina is a wonderful Italian town with a lovely atmosphere and ebullient locals and visitors!
On the down side our room was small, the service was erratic, the staff seeming to disappear for hours at a time, I had to remind myself we were on Sicillian time so just relaxed and went with the flow!

Room Tip: Need to be at front of hotel with sea view , the higher rooms seemed to have the best views, rooms i...

My husband and I spent our honeymoon in this hotel. Although quite expensive, it was certainly worth the price. The location is great - very close to the pretty old center of Taormina, on the hill with absolutely amazing view, and also close to the lift that goes down to the seashore and Isola Bella. Our room was spacious, well-equiped, with lovely view. The bathrooms were comfortable and clean. As for the breakfasts (the only meal that we were having in the hotel), the quality was very good, with quite a selection of hot and cold items, as well as fruit. The only disadvantage was the lack of a beach by the hotel - their offer a private beach quite at a distance - but that's the cost of living up in Taormina and having such a lovely view. There is also a swimmingpool, which made it up for us. The staff was very friendly and helpful, always willing to help us with any sightseeing queries. We would definately recommend the hotel.

A good hotel at one end of town close to cable car and main coach station for day trips. Great sea view from our room. Breakfast was good. Clean and comfortable room. 10 euros a day to park car is too much but I think a lot of taromina is hard to park in. Public car park 12 euros a day. Good hotel but not worth the price paid. Again, I think taromina and Sicily is anyway.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this hotel, which offers good, recently modernised rooms, helpful staff, and execllent views out to sea. If you plan a day excursion to Mt Etna - and these start very early in the morning! - no hotel in the town could be more conveniently located: you're almost immediately opposite the bus stop.

This hotel has a great view and the location was good, not in the absolute center of Taormina and therefore quiet sorroundings. The hotel has a nice pool, sorrounded by greenery. They served a large typical hotel breakfast, quite dull. But the hotel was quite neglected and should need some renovation to freshened up.

We had a lovely weeks holiday booked through Thompsons staying at this hotel in September. Had booked a room with seaview balcony which wasn't quite ready when we arrived so they upgraded us to a suite - not sure what we would have previously had but the suite was on the top floor with an extra room (convenient for the suitcases) but lovely big bathroom and as we were at the end of the hotel our balcony was huge with extra patio furniture. Would agree with the other reviewers about the low walls between the balconies and as our neighbours were smokers this was sometimes very irritating but luckily they were out a lot! The view is to die for and every step down to the swimming pool is through pretty gardens with plenty of stopping points so you don't arrived too puffed - and it does teach you to remember EVERYTHING before you set off, no popping back for the suncream. Restaurant and bar at pool level quite expensive - you are a captive audience. Bus stop for tours and excursions opposite hotel very convenient, turn left out of the hotel and you are quickly at the beautiful town gardens a very pleasant place to spend a cool afternoon admiring the view and people watching. Evening meal appeared rather mediocre at the hotel but it is so close (10 mins walk max) to the town centre with all the shops and stacks of restaurants to choose from its not worth staying in!

Room Tip: All rooms appear to be on the sea side but definitely worth booking a room higher up as some rooms a...

The Grand Hotel Miramare has a stunning location overlooking the bay and it's own extensive grounds. There is plenty of on-site parking and it is close enough to town for an easy stroll to the main street of Taormina.
The hotel, the public spaces and the rooms are spacious and weel furnished in a faded old-fashioned way. The breakfast buffet was very good and plentiful.
Unless one is staying in the summer and might use the pool and grounds, staying at this hotel is pointlessly expensive.
