We had a really really amazing time at Villa Carlotta. Its a family run hotel with high attention to service. The staff are really attentive and friendly without being overbearing. They seem to thrive on ensuring you have a wonderful holiday. The rooms are lovely, with fantastic views. Nothing it too much trouble. The breakfast is beyond anything you could imagine. Drinks looking at Mount Etna smouldering was wonderful. We all enjoyed our stay from my 14 year old son to my mid-70s parents. This has to be the best hotel in Sicily.

We went in early April, it was really quite in the town which was great for getting bookings in restaurants, having lovely weather.

Room Tip: All the rooms are lovely. we had a superior double and it had a sweet balcony with amazing views. It...

This is one of the best hotels we have stayed at and is worthy of the fabulous reviews received. The staff are very attentive, we would like to thank in particular Nathalie, Marco, Simona and chef David Costa who prepared us a wonderful lasagne. The rooms are spacious, we had a junior suite which had stunning views of the sea, very quiet and the bed was so comfortable. Villa Carlotta is famous for its breakfast, we had a choice of everything you could imagine including cheese, ham, fruit, cereal, egg, pastries, cakes, juice, great coffee and champagne. The location is superb, just a few minutes walk to Corso Umberto with shops and restaurants. Make sure you visit the Greek amphitheatre and Castelmola with wonderful views of the bay and Mount Etna. Thank you so much for making our holiday so memorable.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 102, it was on the same floor as reception. A junior suite, very quiet with two b...

This definitely rates as my favourite European hotel to date. The whole experience was an absolute pleasure and I would recommend to anyone wanting a touch of luxury, backed up with fantastic staff.. Nathalie, Simona, Marco, Alberto and David (chef) are all naturally friendly and showed how a hotel should be run. The breakfast was amazing and even included fresh, homemade pastries and champagne. On our first morning we spent around an hour and a half trying to experience as much as we could combined with spectacular views from the rooftop dining area.

We ate in the hotel on 2 occasions and on our final night, David made for us his own unique Lasagne, which was so light and delicious. Marco always provided efficient and knowledgeable service, nothing was too much trouble.

The location of the hotel is perfect for walking into the main town and visting the communal gardens. Its takes around 30 minutes to walk down to the beach and 2 minutes coming back up in the cable car.

We drove to Mount Etna which takes around an hour. If you want to go up to the first station by cable car it costs around 30 Euros each. It was snowing and quite cloudy when we arrived so decided not to go any higher, which would have cost another 27 Euros. Still a great experience and well worth the trip.

Parking (and driving) in Taormina is difficult and the hotel looked after our vehicle for 20 Euros a night...not cheap, but judging by the bumps and scrapes on the majority of parked cars, we felt it was a good option.

Would love to return to this hotel..possibly for our 25th wedding anniversary next year.

Room Tip: We had a first floor room...possibly requesting a third floor room would give a better view of the s...

We loved the Villa Carlotta. The rooms are comfortable and nicely furnished with water views and the hotel is well located for walking to the main shopping street as well as the park and the Greek amphitheater. Breakfasts are amazing, with a variety of baked treats as well as fruit, cheese, hams, cereal, even champagne. The views of Etna from the breakfast area are wonderful and the staff were very helpful. There is also a library which has terrific views. We ate dinner one evening and service was very slow, possibly because it was low season and the kitchen was understaffed. If we ever return to Taormina, Villa Carlotta is where I would want to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view and avoid a room facing the road.

I am a seasoned traveler and not easily impressed.
The first thing you notice is the amazing fragrance throughout the hotel. Smells get me sick but this was so light and fresh with such a tranquil quality to it, whomever picked it really knew what they were doing. This choice was not by accident.
That goes for every other detail in the hotel. I liken it to the gramercy park hotel NYC. But this hotel was very calming and the service is is top notch.
The staff is genuinely friendly and warm.
We had a jr suite, the room is generous for a family of three in Europe, I am aware that American standards are different, and have read reviews that complain about the room size. Those people should do their homework on euro travel. This room is above average size and very comfortable.
Lovely sitting room with spectacular views on top floor. We sat and enjoyed pre dinner drinks.
Breakfast is over the top! A vegan would have no problem they have a wonderful assortment of hot and cold dishes that would satisfy all. The wait staff are also attentive and very eager to make your holiday one you would not forget.
This hotel is a must on any bucket list. Amazing. Thank for a lovely holiday.

Dear arj826 from Padua,
I would like to thank you for the beautiful words and praises expressed after your recent stay at Villa Carlotta. We particularly appreciated your pointing out about our above average sizes of the rooms which of course are not comparable with those in USA or Australia ; after all if you choose to stay in an antique villa and a boutique hotel you are looking for that something special design and atmosphere rather than staying in a large group-like hotel. But our guests know that and fortunately seem to like us so much.
Looking forward to your next visit in August,
Kind regards,
Mr. Andrea Quartucci, the owner

We stayed in a junior suite with a sea view for 4 nights at Villa Carlotta at the end of our trip to Sicily and were very glad we chose to travel to Taormina last as the town and the hotel were both really enjoyable places to be. The room was very clean, a good size and the bed was very comfortable. We found the pillows provided too hard and asked for feather ones instead.
Breakfast was scrumptious and the waiting staff could not have been more helpful or pleasant. We are suffering withdrawal symptoms from the delicious pastries on offer each morning. We also had an excellent dinner on our first night.
Everyone we encountered at the hotel was really friendly and went out of their way to assist. One afternoon we fancied a cup of tea (there are, unusually, tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms), so my husband went to ask for fresh milk. He returned empty handed a minute or so later because a staff member was going to deliver the milk herself, which she promptly did, along with a selection of delicious, home made and freshly cooked coconut macaroons!
Parking is a problem in Taormina and we paid a lot for the hotel to park our car. There are public car parks quite a walk away from Villa Carlotta which might be worth considering to overcome that fee.
If we return to Sicily, Villa Carlotta would certainly be on our list to revisit.

What a lovely hotel! The staff could not have been more helpful or kind, from those at the front desk to the staff in the dining room. Breakfast was just wonderful and to eat it overlooking the ocean only added to the experience. Dinners we ate at the hotel were very good too, thanks to the creative young chef. You are close enough to everything in Taormina so that you can walk around and almost forget about your car. Our first room was lovely but a little noisy because of the location, but getting moved was not a problem. When we wanted to lounge about and read before dinner, we used the library on the top floor with it's spectacular view. (To be fair, the view from the room was pretty spectacular itself!) We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Carlotta.

Room Tip: Our lovely room nearest the front desk was a little bit noisy, but once we moved one floor up, we we...
