“Holiday in Paradise”

My parents just returned from 2 nights stay at this charming hotel. Prior to their arrival they had informed the hotel that they would arrive at 8 am and although they were fully booked , they were pleasantly surprised when they were informed that their room would be ready in minutes! The room on the 5th floor, with a private terrace over looking the sea and etna view was simply amazing. Nothing was too much for the staff ..starting from Raffaella and her sister, reservations/ check in stage to Angela the house keeper who took great care of our room! The room was immaculately maintained and there was a wide variety at breakfast ! Thanks a lot . Angela and Charles. Will defiantly come back

Hotel Villa Paradiso, truly family run hotel, you immediately feel at home. The rooms are extremely comfortable, and are kept ultra clean, bathroom and toiletries changed daily, beds were very comfortable Mini bar was well stocked, This is a hotel that has a lot of character and that indefinable Sicilian charm. Public rooms are very well appointed lots of interesting features. The restaurant, on the top floor offers a good and varied of selection for breakfast, evening dinner worth a visit as well. Fantastic view looking out all the way to Mount Etna.
The hotel is located right in the centre of Taormina, so all amenities are just a walk away. There are tennis courts adjacent to the hotel , available for hotel guests. There is a private beach club, free for guests, also free transport provided to and from the beach.
Sicilian charm, fantastic views, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, this is for you, we will most certainly return.

Room Tip: Choose the rooms on the front for one of the best views you have ever seen

Fantastic hotel. Rooms ultra clean, service very good. Beach club wonderful! Worth paying to stay in a hotel that has style and character. I stayed there with my 2 year old. The hotel provded a cot bed, and whilst we were one of the few families there, the hotel did cater well for her. If you want old world Italian charm, fantastic views, and comfortable, well serviced rooms, do have a look at this hotel. I would stay there again happily.

Where does one start?
The bedroom was one of the smallest we have ever stayed in.
the bed was very hard and i do mean hard as was the pillows
the bath room was so small when one was on the loo you could not open the door
bath did not hold water and in 3 min bath was empty
fridge did not cool any drinks
hair dryer did not work
breakfast was a hit and miss.
Now for the good bits,
the view was to die for with views of Mt Etna and of the sea.ok that was the good bits.
As for the beach and club, well that was 15mindrive away,by their mini bus, that we did not know about,
The whole hotel needs a new look its like a faded laurer ashley bye gone day.
The rates for the hotel are very high for such a wasted holiday.

Room Tip: Dont bother

This is our second visit in consecutive years. A fabulous family run hotel, with attentive staff who go the extra mile to make you feel very much at home. This is a home from home, typically Sicilian. Reception staff are multi lingual. An added bonus for sports minded people is the adjoining tennis courts. An hours free court time each day booked through Raffaella on reception. Good central location, beside the local gardens with commanding views of the bay and Mount Etna. The view from the roof top restaurant is breathtaking and the best in Taormina. My wife Carol would visit this hotel every year, just for the homely feel created by the staff. The cleaning staff (Angela is such a gem) can't do enough to make your stay a pleasure. A complimentary minibus is available to take you to their private beach club. Facilities here are excellent, fabulous gardens, pool, private beach with loungers/umbrellas and restaurant/bar. Worth having a conversation with the owners Salvatore and Ester, they have lived here all of their lives and have a wealth of knowledge of local history. We will be back again soon.

Room Tip: If booking direct, book early. One years notice ensures a good room. Ask for Seaview with Etna vie...

After reading all the rave reviews, we were very disappointed by this hotel. It is not a 4 star hotel and in fact I have stayed in many 3 star hotel rooms much nicer than the one we had (on the 2nd floor). The view from the rooftop breakfast is indeed lovely as it would be from the rooms with terraces. Our room although allegedly non smoking reeked of cigarettes. The air con made a lot of noise but was ineffectual and I woke several times in the night from being too hot. Noise also echoed down the hallway especially the rumbling from ill fitting doors. There is lots of space to relax on the ground floor with several sofas and bookcases and a bar as well as a free pc. Although while you can see that some renovations have been made recently, the overall decor is dowdy and a sense that it has seen better days. The only good part of our room was the bathroom, the rest of the room was slightly depressing although very clean. The grand daughter who does the reservations was very pleasant and efficient and Nonna endearing but overall the set-up seemed inefficient and inflexible and there was a touch of Fawlty Towers Manuel in the management of the luggage hand/valet Alessandro. Taormina is a lovely town and the hotel is well located to enjoy it. We drove there and it is not an easy town or hotel to arrive to by car unless you are a dab hand at driving on narrow, winding Italian roads, which would be pedestrian only lanes in most other countries. If we had our time again, we would choose another method of transport. The hotel uses a fee for service garage in the next street but beware this closes for a siesta so you need to retrieve your car before noon.

We have just returned from this hotel and can honestly recommend it. The staff are friendly, the rooms are spotless and cleaned to a high standard on a daily basis. We had a sea/mount etna view and I would recommend, if you can afford it, to upgrade to one. Sitting on the balcony every morning with views of Mount Etna on one side and the sea on the other was amazing. The views are even better from the restaurant on the 6th floor. The breakfast was fine but can't comment on the dinner. The hotel was close to the Greek Amphitheatre and all the restaurants and about a 15 minute walk to the bus station. There is also the beautiful gardens right outside the hotel entrance. We also visited their sister beach resort (transport included) and can definitely recommend a day at the beach, although the food was not the greatest I had the Panini and it was too hard to eat but you can take your own sandwiches if you prefer.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a sea view/etna room
