This was a bit expensive, but for our last 2 days in Sicily it was worth it. Easy to find -definitely use the garage option. Service is formal but warm and helpful and they do more for you than most places we visited. Nice bar and pretty garden where you can have a drink when you return from all that shopping. As previously stated by others, breakfast is the best we had - you can order any thing. We had an early departure (7am) but they gave us a full breakfast prior to our leaving. Bed was great, spotless, lots of storage room, nice terrace with a clothesline. The hotel is gracious, decorated in an elegant traditional style and the breakfast terrace has such a view! Really professionally run with your comfort in mind. I'd return in a blink. Eat at Naumachie.

No need to book the most expensive room. Just spend every waking hour on the beautiful terrace. The charming wait staff was there in the morning with yummy breakfast choices and Michael was ready with our glass of wine when we returned from touring. As described in a previous review it is quiet with a calming garden, but steps from the bustle of the town.
I must say that our experience with the front desk staff was a little disappointing. Very friendly, very nice, but could not help us with a bus schedule. Referred us to the town travel agencies who also did not want to help us. They sell tours. I can't believe we were the only visitors in Taormina sans car looking for bus travel times out of Catania. That said, if I am ever back in Taormina I will stay at Villa Schuler.

We had a good stay at Hotel Villa Schuler. As said in earlier reviews, this hotel is pricey, but probably the prices in Taormina are higher than other place in Sicily.
Our sat nav was able to find the hotel easily, but unfortunately the hotel has only 2 parking spaces, so our car had to be parked in their garage for 15 euro per night.
The hotel staff helped us with our bags.

The room was lovely and had a big balcony overlooking the sea. There were 2 lounge chairs on the balcony.
Free wifi in the room with the password from the reception. Beds were a bit firm but good.
The hotel has the best breakfast in Sicily. You can order from a menu anything you like (fresh fruit, fruit or vegetable (carrot) juice, eggs in any way, muesli, yoghurt, etc.). The breakfast area outside has wonderful views over the sea.
The hotel is very conveniently located in the middle of Taormina. If you step out of the back garden you are in the high street with all the exclusive shops and restaurants.

Our second stay here. First was in Oct 2008. Absolutely can't fault the place. Wonderful location, with a short stroll to the main street in Taormina through their own beautiful, tranquil garden. The breakfast terrace is exquisite with views of the sea, the coast towards Catania and Mount Etna. Best breakfast I have ever had anywhere.
Our room had a lovely balcony looking over the garden with Taormina and Castello Milan rising steeply behind. Really magical.

My husband and I stayed at the Villa Schuler for 10 days in Setempber. I researched an endless amout of hotels in Taormina and selected the Villa Schuler for location, size and affordability. I really felt this place would be very nice, but it far exceeded my expectations. Our corner room with 2 balconies, one with the view of Mt Etna, and both viewing the Ionian Seas lovely. By European standards this room was large and comfortable---bed and linens wonderful. Decor was crisp and clean and the bathroom beautiful, with plenty of space for toiletries. We were with easy walking distance to everything. The large garden in the back of the Villa was lush with several seating areas that were shaded. Breakfast, included in the price was exceptional and not a buffet---variety, freshness, and a view of the sea. The Villa has been in the Schuler family for over 100 years, surviving 2 World Wars. The hospitality of the Schuler family and staff was exceptional. It's beauty is in its simplicity and not "over doing" Good Taste. It deserves 5 stars.
Thank you for a most memorable time. Kay and Martin Mufalli

Hotel Villa Schuler (HVS) took a little finding but with our GPS and some local signage, we arrived. We were greeted by a man up on the outside terrace. He then came down to the Via Roma, helped us with our bags, and then went and parked our car in the hotel garage (15 euro per night!!!). Check-in was easy with multilingual staff on hand, and we were soon heading to our room. HVS is, by comparison with our other Italy accommodation selections, a bit on the pricey side. Our room was the price level just above basic. It had a nice little terrace looking into the garden area. The room was spacious, clean & fresh. The bathroom was quite large, with probably the best shower we have had :-) It wasn't big, but it was a jacuzzi shower, and the water was hot and strong.
The bed was comfy and the room was quiet at night. We needed to have the AC on as the weather was quite humid, with some afternoon and evening showers.
The room has WiFi but you must get the password from Reception, and if you are inactive on the computer for a short period of time, it will log you out. Became a bit annoying.
Breakfast was taken on the outside terrace level (inside seating if raining), and was extensive. You order off the menu. The wait staff are very helpful.
If you walk out the back and through the hotel garden you get to a gate. Go through the gate and then straight up the steps in front of it. This will bring you out on the main shopping and tourist street. It's also only a short walk to the Greek Ampitheatre. If you can't find a restaurant, cafe or gelateria nearby, you are just not trying. There are hundreds in this active little town.
Overall, a good stay, but a touch pricey, but maybe that's just Taormina, Sicily's seaside playground.

Room Tip: Views from rooms are price dependent - the higher up in the hotel you go, the higher the price but t...

A great hotel with stunning views of the bay and Etna. The rooms are comfortable, not large but they do the job, get one with a balcony if you can. Breakfast is served on the terrace, and the choice was a welcome change from all the days of white bread.

You are situated just below the main pedestrian precinct, which is easily accessed through the garden and the back gate.

The staff speaks english, german and french for sure, heard a bit of spanish too. They are helpful and friendly.

The hotel offer underground, locked parking for your car for 15 euro pr day. A near must in Taormina.

Room Tip: Get a balcony if you can
