Hotel Villa Schuler
Ranked #8 of 87 Hotels in Taormina
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed September 8, 2012

Villa Schuler is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful spot. The views are amazing. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from the very busy touristy shopping street, but once in the hotel or in the lovely quiet garden you can relax completely. The breakfast is not a buffet for a change, but you can order anything you could think of and get it served on the amazing terrace. The staff is really great, are allways there when you want something, and give perfect advice. Don't hesitate, choose this hotel!

Room Tip: The views are worth it, so take a room with ocean view balcony if you can!

We were greeted by Karen at reception. She is professional, friendly and sincere. She recommended some lovely restaurants that aren't horrid tourist traps. We upgraded to the balcony room - a large ,clean, traditional room with a spa bath & small, wrought iron balcony with views to swoon over. Very Romantic - especially at night looking over the midnight blue sea with luxury yachts floating around. Beds comfy. The hotel is in a perfect position just off the main road. It is easy to get down to the beach by cable car. We also went to a beach recommended by the hotel which was great for a swim and the seafood lunch there was excellent. A mini bus punctually picked us up and dropped us back off at the hotel. The breakfast had a fantastic range of quality items - freshly baked croissants, eggs and squeezed juices. The carrot juice was excellent.
This is better than a 5 star experience in my opinion because of the sincerity of the staff and the freshness of the ingredients at breakfast.

Room Tip: Recommend Superior Balcony room with wrought iron balcony

Hotel is lovely, small but provides all the luxuries that one would expect from a much larger hotel. It is perfectly located in the old center of Taormina, walking distance from Greek Theater, Public Park and many great restaurants. View from all floors facing the see is perfect and little garden is a island of tranquility. Stuff is attentive and helpful without being bothersome. The hotel is not on the beach and it does not have a pool, this can be a problem if you travel with children, but this is also what keeps it romantic, quiet and inexpensive. I give it extra star for drying bad sheets in the sun outdoors. How often do hotel rums actually smell good?

Room Tip: top floor rooms with patio are worth paying extra for

We stayed here for 4 nights and requested an ocean view. Our balcony looked out on the bay and the view was stunning. The room was a bit small, but very functional with lots of shelf space. Didn't like the vacuum hose hair dryer, but that was minor. The breakfasts were also very good, as you could order what you wanted with a very extensive choice beyond just a continental breakfast. And it was a pleasure to dine outside with, again, a stunning view. A nice touch is the refreshing drink served upon arrival. They also have a garage to park your car. We left it there the entire time, as the walk to the main street was just a few minutes.

This hotel was excellent value- a few steps down from the main street in taormina. We had a lovely view of the garden and our room had a beautiful window which let in lot of light. Think they have upgraded a few suite rooms to more modern furnishings but we preferred the conventional bedrooms which were more tasteful. Fantastic view from the terrace were breakfast is served every day. Very nice staff who work hard to fulfil your requests.

It was a great pleasure to stay at this hotel. Staff were welcoming, polite, meticulous in their provision of information, and very helpful. My room and bathroom were spacious, clean, quiet, comfortable, and contained all the facilities one might wish. The wifi worked all the time and was free. My terrace overlooking the tranquil garden was a bonus. Breakfast a la carte was taken on a delightful terrace overlooking the sea from one angle and Mt Etna from another. Access to the main street of the village, and thus to restaurants, shops and sights, was easy and quick. Parking is very restricted in this cliffside town and my admiration for the capacity of the hotel staff to manage guest cars' entry and exit into the confined spaces of the hotel's cliffside garages successfully is unbounded. In all, the hotel is an excellent example of efficiency, care and thoughtfulness.

This hotel in the centre of the beautiful town of Taormina offers a quiet haven with excellent, clean and quality accommodation and breakfast a la carte, wonderful views of Mount Etna, the Sicilian riviera and a quiet and shady garden with fish and terrapins as a perfect escape from the heat when required.

The customer service in the hotel was excellent without exception, every member of the staff from porter to manager were attentive, friendly and quick to respond to requests, Really a fantastic place to spend some time in a beautiful area of Sicily.

Room Tip: Rooms on third floor with balcony and sun loungers offer a great view plus canopy to cover the balco...
