This is where people walk, where people linger at cafés to see and be seen, where brides and grooms parade and show off her beautiful dress.

Entering the eastern gate you quickly get rid of the Italian desire to knock you down on a motobike. Walk quickly past the Godfather rubbish and the rip off cafes. But then look up at he old buildings, the churches. Enjoy the people on the street. To find the best places away from the squadrons of rubber-neck tourists following a guide with a strange device, reach the last square at the western end and behind the church step down the narrow Via Sacramento to the LA DRACENA garden restuarant. Here in a quiet garden shadedd by a 300 year olf dragon tree drink a large glass of wonderful tasting local white wine for 3 Euro and enjoy Parma ham and melon. Just right for lunch. Then climb back up the stairs and if it is a Film Festival as happened when I was there just enjoy looking at the people who think they are celebrities.

Beautiful street with wonderful character. The (very expensive) shops are full of beautiful clothes, art, antiques and of course ice-cream

Corso Umberto has some of the most fabulous shops on it ever, if you love shopping then this is the place for you. There are cafe's and bars located along it as well as fabulous places to soak up the view of the sea and mount Etna.........what a great place.

This street is the main centre of Taormina and has plenty of side streets to keep you busy for a few hours. There are beautiful shops and churches to be seen.
