“Great shopping street”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2012

Atmospheric street filled with fashion and food shops and a few tacky souvenir joints best ignored. Ceramics are not exactly tasteful but colourful plates and bowls if you can take them home. The buildings are wonderful - medieval in architecture.

“Great shopping experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2012

Many shops with diversity. We loved shopping for Sicialian food specialties, gelato, cannoli, and granita. There are many outstanding restaurants to enjoy.

“Great for a stroll”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2012

the main street with plenty going on. The corso nearest the greek theatre is full of touristy shops but the other end has designer shops and just off the corso some lovely cafes and shops to buy pasta, cheeses and wine. It can be busy, especially when the cruise ships are in at Messina!

“Charming and elegant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

During our holiday in Taormina area we went several time in Taormina for a walk and for visiting sights.
Corso Umberto is definitely an elegant street where you can find shops, bars and restaurants; narrow streets on the left and right side lead you to discover lots of other attractions.

“Too many tourists, too many classy boutiques”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

Corso Umberto is a beautiful little street, and a cannolo and cuppuccino at the ETNA pasticceria is a delight (doesn't come cheap but it's worth it!). But the flow of tourists and the luxury bioutiques make it like many of the shopping streets anywhere - Via Condotti or Via della Spiga. Maybe it's nicer in winter?
