Owner description: The view of Mount Etna and the sea beyond is absolutely superb at Taormina's 10,000-seat ancient Greek amphitheater, which was erected in the third century BC and expanded by the Romans.

“amazing and untouched”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

Calm, quiet, HUGE, a spectacular view, and a trip back in time. So surreal. It was the highlight of our trip to the area.

“Teatro not at its best.”
Reviewed April 29, 2013

Unfortunately the Teatro was being filled in with white wood seating for a forthcoming event which made the effect rather like concrete sides.

“Amphitheater with the most dramatic sea view”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

Definitely worth visiting, the amphitheater is set in a very dramatic place in terms of sea view. It is great to compare it with the Siracusa Greek Amphitheater.

“Beautiful old theatre in an incredible location!”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

It's well worthwhile paying a visit to this old theatre. It has stunning views over the ocean and Mt Etna which makes for some great photo opportunities. Combined with an afternoon wandering around the main street of Taormina makes for a perfect balance of sightseeing and relaxing.
