Owner description: The view of Mount Etna and the sea beyond is absolutely superb at Taormina's 10,000-seat ancient Greek amphitheater, which was erected in the third century BC and expanded by the Romans.

“Stunning Prospect”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2013

An absolutely "picture perfect" ( you'll be shooting many ) prospect is the site of this Grecoroman theater, one of those remarkble locales capable of transporting one in imagination across the centuries. Etna towers in the distance, the Bay of Naxos lies at one's feet and the fabled Ionian sea stretches beyond the Strait of Messina. Dream here a while and breathe that same wind that filled Odysseus' sail.

At first weren't going to entre because it was 8euro p.p which was not worth ot but since we were between 18 and 24 we only pay 4euro p.p. the panoramic view of taormina is just amazing since the teatro is on a very high level of taormina.. not worth missing :)

“Stunning Location and Views of Mt Etna”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2013

This a short walk from the centre (up a slight incline). The views of Taromina with Mount Etna behind are excellent. Kids from the European Union go free (take ID).

“The original RED ROCKS Amphitheater”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2013

Listening to an outdoor concert in an ancient Greek venue was unbelievable. We were just so captured by the history and setting. We are from Colorado and learned that the inspiration for our own Red Rocks venue was this very ruin!

“Stunning amphitheater with a view of the Etna”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2013

Well worth a visit! The site is magnificent, you have an incredible panorama on the Etna on one side, and the sea on the other, and you can easily spend an hour or two exploring, admiring, and taking photos.
