Owner description: The view of Mount Etna and the sea beyond is absolutely superb at Taormina's 10,000-seat ancient Greek amphitheater, which was erected in the third century BC and expanded by the Romans.

“Not the best theatre, but one of the best views”
Reviewed February 6, 2013 via mobile

I went to the Greek Theater as part of a guided tour and I can't remember much of what was said, which leads me to believe it wasn't particularly memorable, aside from the fact that a concert was getting set up as we toured it, which was pretty cool.
What I do remember is the AMAZING views. I would do the tour again for the photos alone.

“Nice view!!”

Very nice place with great views of Taormina and the sea, including a nice landscape of the etna that can be seen behind the stage.

“Fantastic place”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

This was the main reason to my visit to Taormina. And I wasnt disappointed! There are some fantastic views of the the coast and Mt Etna and to walk around this place and get a feel for what it was intended for originally was amazing. There has been a lot of work added to it to make it usable for the Taormina Film Festival, but beyond that, it was a beautiful place and rather moving.

“Amazing place”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

We went to this theatre for a look and was disappointed that they had the Taormina Film Festival on and it was covered with scaffolding. On saying this the place was absolutely amazing and even if it was being used for the festival you still got the feel of the place. We just sat and soaked up the atmosphere and looked at the beautiful views. I would visit here again in nono second it is awesome!

“Historical wonder”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

It would almost be impossible to visit Taormina and not see the Greek Amphitheatre as it is one of the main highlights. It's in a magical location at the end of the promontory and wandering around not only gives you a historical tour but allows you to take in some truly breathtaking views.
