Good food with good & friendly service! Nice location off the main, busy street. Nice outdoor area in the steps & lane. Will return!

“Bustly restaurant, good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2014

Rather a pushy area of town, with everyone touting for business. This restaurant was doing the same! We succumbed because of the large outdoor seated area, which had a lovely buzz about it. Probably not a place for a quiet romantic mean!! Like many places in the centre, we were greeted with free prosecco and bruchetta. We then had just one course, as we were off to the opera. My pasta with salmon was delicious, as were all the other meals taken by our group, and the salads were lovely and fresh. The menu was typical local fare, and the wines were very good too. Would recommend.

“SHELTER - GREAT SERVICE - YUMMY FOOD”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2014

We eat here twice as the food and service was excellent. We were unsure at to which drink to have and received tasters which enabled us to make the decision which was a great idea. The food was of high quality - we had pizza on first visit and risotto and pasta on second visit, we were not rushed in anyway and the staff were all friendly and attentive.

“Best meal in two weeks on a nationwide tour of Italy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2014

We were on Honeymoon for two weeks touring Italy starting in Venice, travelling to Florence then Sorrento before finishing in Sicily. We ate out almost every night and both agreed that the meal we had at Shelter was the best we had had all holiday and remained that way until the end of our holiday. We made a point of telling the staff this when we left we were that impressed. Many restaurants we visited often put undue pressure on for tips (and many places imposed a service charge by default!); Shelter was not like this at all and the atmosphere was very relaxed and laid back; everything you would imagine and want from a spontaneous Sicilian dinner. A particular mention must go to our waiter (a tall man with a shaven head called Reggano??) who was the most well mannered and humble waiter we encountered all trip. More importantly, the food was excellent; really fresh, hot and tasty. Bravo.
