Villa Costanza Bellavista
Reviewed October 2, 2011

Villa Costanza Bellavista is family owned and has a nice selection of apartments set in a lovely garden with pool and sun lounging area with great view of Mount Etna. We stayed in one of the studio apartments, Sergio, with our 1 year old son. The studio was new, a good size, nicely furnished with comfortable sofa bed, satellite TV, plenty of storage space, well equipped kitchen/dining area, and spacious shower room with huge shower, toilet, bidet and sink unit. The owners provided a cotbed for us free of charge, and it was in perfect condition ready made up with nice bedding. The apartment has a small private terrace to the front and use of the villa's mature gardens which are lovely, located over a number of levels (our 1 year old had fun climbing up all the stairs) equipped with a good sized, very clean pool, and sun lounging area with views towards the coast and Mount Etna. There is also a parking space to use if you have your own car. The Costello family are very welcoming and on hand if you have any queries, but also very discreet, letting you relax and enjoy the wonderful setting. Nice friendly touches, like the owners coming to say hello and check that all was going ok, and the gardner dropping by one day to give us some fresh basil. The villa is a short walk uphill from the main part of Taormina and there is a supermarket enroute making it easy to pick up daily supplies. Although there were other guests staying at the time, we felt like we had the place to ourselves a lot of the time, and enjoyed relaxing in and by the pool while our wee one had his naps during the day. A very nice holiday apartment, highly recommended.

We have very much enjoyed our holidays at Villa Costanza Bellavista in Taormina. The apartments are excellent located just 5 minutes away from the Corso Umberto and from a supermarket whre you can find anything you need. The owners of the apartments live on the premises and do literally anything to make their guests feel at home and comfortable. We stayed in apartment Sergio which is meant for 2 persons. It is spacious and has all the comfort you need. The pool is great, big enough and very clean. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone who likes to stay close to the city's center, yet have all the peace and quietness of a nice and clean apartment complex.

Room Tip: I would try to get an apartment with the view on the sea / Etna

My second time here. This time we stayed in the Curioso apartment, facing mount Etna on the side with a little terrace. These apartments are very clean, the owners are very nice and friendly. The pool is lovely, the lounging area is great, the view from the pool/lounge area is really beautiful. The great thing about it, is the other people in the apartment seem to be more continentals - so they go off on day trips in the cars, leaving the swimming pool and lounging area free. So, it's like having your own private pool, and we had great fun with the little baby on her first swimming experience.

It's a bit of a tough walk with the buggy up the hill - and there are steps too - but you can avoid the steps by walking around to the other entrance. Someone else mentioned noise, but there was no noise where we were apart from the hiss of a distant roadway. (Note: Taormina is nothing like Positano - which has serious slopes)

For what we got, in the location, and in wonderful Taormina, these are budget apartments for half the price that they should be. The problem with this location is that the people who stay here like to return.

I'm guessing that these apartments are officially furnished to about a 2/3 star rating - good kitchen, gas stove, two air conditioners, Satellite TV, coffee maker, cot provided, terrace table and chairs, insect zappers - pretty OK, nice showers and very clean..... but for the price of this apartment, for the facilities, pool, sun loungers, and the location 5 minutes walk away from town, for the beautiful view, decent owners, and the overall value of the experience, this beats the pants off the other overpriced offerings out there in Taormina.
So, for this reason I'm giving this 5 stars.

Thanks Antonio, we'd like to come back, but we know you'll already be booked out from last years guests returning.

Final advice: Book early

Stayed here for 10 days in June this year with my fiancee and we absolutely loved it!! We stayed in the Panoramic Curioso apartment & it was lovely, everything you needed & very clean. Loads of storage space in the bedroom & the view from the balcony over Mt Etna & down to the coast was just brilliant. The main parts of Taormina are just 5 minutes walk away and after lovely evening meals we'd wander back to our balcony for a glass of Prosecco under the stars, bliss!!! I also really loved the pool, it's surrounded by gorgeous colourful flowers & lemon trees. We had a car rented for the 10 days & having the parking at the apartment was great. It is a bit hard to find the place first time (one tip, don't rely just on Sat-nav...ours got totally confused in Taormina. Because the streets are so small it doesn't know which one you're on!) but do give Antonio a call & he'll help to direct you. In summary I'd recommend this place to anyone, had a fabulous 10 days here & would love to go back some day.

My four adult children and I stayed at the Panoramic Giada the week of May 7-14, 2011.
Everything was lovely--the flowers, the courtyard, the singing birds, the security and privacy of the location as well as it's convenience, the cleanliness and comfort of the apartment, and of course, the breath taking view of the Ionian Sea and Mt. Etna. The owners, Antonio, Prof. and Signora Carmela Cappello are some of the nicest people you're likely to meet.
I'd recommend this place in a heartbeat to anyone visiting in Taromina.

I have Stayed at the Villa Costanza in Taormina many times because of so many reasons. Signor Antonio Cappello, the proprietor is one of the nicest most courteous, knowlegable people in all of Taormina. Aside from this what one gets is beyond comprehension. The Villa Costanza sits up on a hill a stones throw away from the main street, the Corso Umberto where yes, all things happen in Taormina; where EVERYONE goes to make their passaggiata, to eat, to stroll, and even to get to the beach below where prices, especially during the summer are prohibitive. To enter another world of peace and quiet at the end of the day or "Per preparare pranzo a casa" it is a very short ( 5 minute) beautiful walk up a small hill passing the most inviting smells of the flowers and trees into the calmness and quiet of of The Villa Costanza. The expression, "You Can Hear a Pin Drop" was never truer and with any of these six available apartments once can see Etna and the Ionian Sea in all of their splendor. It is the reason my wife refers to Sicily as, "A Feast for the Senses". You can make your own meals, as there is a small ample kitchen, and eat on your own balcony sucking in the intoxicating air and spectacular views or walk right back down the hill to any of the people watching bars to have a pannino, cafe or brioche.
Don't want to go to the beach? Use the pool which sits among the lemon trees and colorful flowers impeccably trimmed by his very friendly staff. You may want to just sit, soak up the sun and admire the Ionian coastline beyond Giardini Naxos and into Catania. Another amazing thing, and not a small one, is that one CAN HAVE A CAR which is otherwise prohibited in Taormina unless you are a resident or want to pay for parking in the garages at either end of the Corso. Believe me, THAT adds up ( Your car will also have a great view of the Ionian and Etna)!! It is really like having the very best of both worlds: the sensuality and lure of Taormina complete with its bustle and crowds and then the calm stillness of the suburbs so close yet so far. The prices? THERE IS NO BETTER DEAL IN ALL OF TAORMINA. I say this having traveled to Sicily and Taormina in particular, MANY times. BOOK EARLY as he is very popular catering to many more repeat visitors.
