We were on a cruise port visit. We found Sicily Life through cruise forums and booked through email with Anna who was very helpful. Ricardo met us at the ship, we clarified our expectations for the day and the adjusted plans before heading out to Mt. Etna. Our trip included Mt. Etna, a honey/olive oil shop, the magnificent Gambino vineyard, and lovely Taormina. In the end we wish we had cut short or cut out Etna and spent more time in Taormina. the Gambino vineyard is not usually part of tours but should not be missed. Ricardo was very knowledgeable and a real asset. Well worth the price for a private tour!

We went on the Etna Grand Tour - a full day, and longer than the stated number of hours. We booked from the UK by email and Anna was very efficient and helpful. Our guide picked up the four of us from our hotel right on time, in a very comfortable people carrier. The windows were tinted so it was always cool and shady inside. The guide was a real treasure, so knowledgeable and informative, with perfect English; we were never hurried and could spend as much time as we liked at each of the stops. We visited all the places stated in the itinerary: Etna was spectacular and the countryside was beautiful. The honey farm (with lots of tastings)was really interesting and there was no pressure put on you to buy anything. Nor was there at the vineyard - do go for the brunch option, the food is all local and delicious. Each of the four wines was opened, poured, then the bottle left on the table; we could have polished off all four if we had wanted!
This was real value for money and we would never have found all the places on our own. We wore trainers but could have managed in sandals. It was breezy up on Etna, but a hot day so we managed without extra layers. However, I would advise taking some with you especially out of summer season. Don't forget your camera!

We went on the full day Etna tour with Antonio. This day was the highlight of our family's 10 day trip to Sicily and Rome. My husband and I were traveling with 2 teenagers, 14 and 17. Antonio arrived at our hotel 5 minutes early in a very clean Mercedes van. It was quite comfortable. We went up to Etna stopping at a honey farm for just a brief visit. The stop at Etna was nice, but definitely not the highlight of the day. Please know that when you go to Etna, you will not be taking the cable cars to the top...which was perfectly fine with us. Etna was very chilly, be sure to take a jacket and wear good shoes. On the way back down we stopped at the Gambino Winery which was tremendous. Thank you Francesca...you made this so memorable, and thank you also for the tour. We had wine, platters of food, all on this beautiful porch overlooking the vineyards.
We left there and went to a small village and walked around the old buildings. Spectacular view.
And, all along the way, Antonio captured our hearts. Such a big teddy bear! Thank you my friend!

Had an awesome experience with Antonio LaRossa from Sicily Life Tours. Arranged a private tour through the central office and communication was excellent and extremely responsive (all done via email). Antonio met my wife and I at the agreed upon time at the port and was polite and professional. The car was clean, the ride smooth and the air-conditioning excellent. Antonio shared his knowledge and love of Sicilia along the way and made excellent conversation. First stop was a Honey/Olive Oil Factory, where we were under no obligation to buy, but did anyway, as we could not resist. From there was arrived at Etna to find the temp had dropped to 0 C. No matter, Antonio did his best to make us comfortable and event waited out the storm for better weather so we could explore the crater. From Etna we went to Taormina where we were introduced to a local restaurant owner and had the most fantastic (and reasonably priced lunch). Lunch was at our leisure and enjoyed the company of the restaurant owner and his friends so much we wound up spending ~2 hours. After lunch we had time to stroll the main shopping district and met Antonio on the opposite end in a pre-determined meeting place with more than enough time to get back to the ship.

Antonio was a gentlemen the entire time and made us feel right at home. He even had water and Cannolis waiting in the car for the trip back. All in all, we used a private tour company in every port, and I will say without hesitation that our time in Sicily was most memorable.

Thanks Antonio and good luck on TV.

Mark and Stephanie

We used Sicily Life to transfer from our Taormina hotel to Catania airport. The driver arrived early, the car was comfortable and the journey stress free. The 75 euro fare was 15/20 euro less than the robbers at the Taormina taxi ranks were quoting.
