We just came back from a wonderful trip to Sicily, and Antonio La Rosa made it a wonderful trip. He took us to my fiance’s parents’ birthplace in St. Angelo di Brolo and Capo d’Orlando where my fiancé proposed to me. Antonio was incredibly sweet, funny and accommodating, effortlessly handling tricky driving situations, letting me stop repeatedly for photos, recommending restaurants that served delicious ravioli with pistachio sauce, taking us to a lovely winery, and providing home-made cannoli wrapped and waiting for us on our seats after we returned from sightseeing. On our day trip to Siracusa, we also stopped by Noto, the lovely baroque town where Antonio lives. Antonio’s sense of humor, sweet nature and great recommendations made our two days with him very special. We highly recommend Sicily Life for any excursions you would like to plan in Sicily. The booking process was welcoming with excellent service, and changes in itinerary due to flight changes were accommodated efficiently. We always traveled in comfort and style with their fleet of different models of black Mercedes. Thank you Antonio and Sicily Life! We will be back!!

We used this car service while at port of Messina and were very happy and satisfied with the service. Sabastian at info@sicilylife.com arranged the booking and Ricardo was our driver, both were professional and did a superb job in securing the reservation and providing great car service while at port. We find it's very important to hire a car service when cruising since you have limited amount of time to see the region. Our driver took us to Castelmola and Taormina and provided local information and guidance that was very helpful while were there. He recommended a terrific restaurant in Taormina (Trattoria da Nino) that had great food and a georgeous view which we never would have found on our own, it's across from the cable car entrance, just outside of town. On the way back to the ship, he took us through a small beach community and other quiant tourist spots giving us a perfect overview of the region we were visiting. The prices are reasonable, this is a service not to be missed when traveling in Sicily.
Highly recommend.

Our group of 8 adults (family and friends) booked the Unknown Sicilian Villages & Godfather Tour as a private tour while in the port of Messina on a cruise. Our tour guide was friendly and provided us with basic information about the places we visited. I enjoyed the tour of Savoca which is the site where The Godfather was filmed, but the drive to get there was long and winding. Following Savoca, we drove to a couple of other towns, again on very windy roads. People who are prone to motion sickness might want to choose a different tour.

The town of Taormina was typically touristy with beautiful views of the sea. If you walk through the entrance gate and continue about 5 minutes, there is a wonderful shop called Sisili Island Store (yes, spelling is correct) that sells artisan products made primarily by residents of Sicily.

The tour would have been much better if the tour guide/driver had spoken a bit more about what we were seeing as we drove and drove and drove. All in all, the tour was adequate, but I left Sicily feeling like I knew lots about the filming of The Godfather movie (which I have not seen) and very little about Sicilian history other than there was an earthquake in 1908.

We used Antonio of Sicily Life for a week to show us around Sicily. He was knowledgeable, polite and had a good sense of humor. He was always on time and recommended some good restaurants. He took us to Palermo and he was not as knowledgeable about that area, in fact we would have done a better job on our own. After leaving Sicily we had another car and driver and there was a world of difference. Sicily life does an adequate job but does not go the extra mile. If something was out of the way, or inconvenient he made excuses not to do it. My husband got sick in the middle of the day and was resting in the shade after having thrown up. The other couple was going to see another site and I said we would wait here as my husband was so weak. Antonio said let him come with us, we'll find shade there and that way I won't have to double back to pick him up. I refused and it was just 10 minutes out of his way to come back and get us.

Sicily Life Tours was referred to me by a cousin who had used their services to visit relatives during their visit to Sicily. We are mature women - 3 sisters and a cousin on a trip of historic significance - It was the 100th anniversary of our grandparents immigration from Sicily to America. Sicily Life Tours made it a trip of a lifetime. At first, we just wanted someone to take us from Taormina to Sant'Agata diMilitello, a town on the north coast 70km west of Messina, then we also booked them to transport us from Catania airport to our hotel in Taormina - we'd been traveling nonstop for over 24 hrs and having to find a train or bus, haul our luggage, seemed a bit too daunting. For $25 pp, we had luxury of a comfortable van, Antonio our driver greeted us at the airport, loaded up our luggage and driove so that we could relax for an hour and just soak in our first sights of this beautiful country as we went up to Taormina our first destination. During the course of our emails and after viewing their web site, my sisters and I decided that not only would we use their services for the daytrip to Sant'Agatao, we booked 4 tours with them. In addition to taking us on a daylong trip to see Sant'Agata di Militello, the town where our grandparents were from, our tour guide and driver, Domenico, was a trememdous asset, helping us find our relatives houses, translating for us, and giving us all we could have asked for in a tour guide and ultimately, a friend. He was very knowledgable about the sites we visited and in telling us the history of Sicily and the areas we visited. But most of all, we appreciated his flexibility, as our plans evolved. We took the "Godfather" tour to Savoca and Forz d'Agro, which were absolutely fabulous- I don't think we would have ventured up to those mountain towns on our own. The tour of Mt. Etna also included a winery tour, a visit to Zefferena and transported us back to Catania for the rest of the week from where we took a tour to Siracusa and Noto was also a highlight. We'd stop for a coffee or gelato, wander through the city market, view the bay and the baroque churches..so beautiful..Our last day we toured Piazza Amerina -possibly the most magnificent church in Sicily - and the ceramic capital of Sicily, Caltagirone..Again, I don't know that we would have found these lovely places if it hadn't been for Sicily Life tours. Their services were well worth the cost - no worries about parking - or trying to find a a place to eat, or helping you just experience life in Sicily. They made our trip so worry-free! We can't thank them enough except to encourage other travelers to check them out. You won't be disappointed. www.sicilylife.com.
