“Well-orchestrated menu-- a great fusion of traditional ingredients”
Reviewed November 8, 2011

We liked the purity of the taste when it came to the ingredients. Loved the sashimi, simply delicious, the choice of olive oils and the complimentary amuse de bouche.
Good selection of wine, impeccable service. Highly recommended!

“Friendly with well prepared Sicilian cuisine.”
Reviewed April 18, 2010

The location is a short walk off the main street , Corso, which is positive. The first floor dining room has dark wood furniture and nice large windows. The menu contains a good choice of local specialties. For lunch, the pasta with cherry tomatoes and mussels was wonderful; large succulent fresh mussels. Attentive service.

“Cosy cafe with delicious local cuisine in central Taormina”
Reviewed February 27, 2009

We visited Taormina for 3 nights in February 2009, and enjoyed this cafe so much that we ate dinner here twice. It is located directly across from the entrance to Palazzo San Domenico. Front desk staff and a fellow guest gave it rave revues, so we tried it. A small family team owns and operates the cafe, which used to be an antique shop. The main dining room seats about 40 people and is filled with antique ceramics from around Sicily and warm wooden furniture. Service was warm and professional, but not overfriendly in an unpleasant way. This is a family business but they want to make certain you enjoy your meal.

Without exception, our food on both visits was delicious, perfectly cooked, and a fine example of the local cuisine. Between the two visits we tried an antipasti plate of local meats, cheeses, and olives, the divine pasta with eggplant & ricotta cheese, sea bass, and a delicious cannolo to finish the night. Until I tried their cannolo, I never understood the appeal of cannoli. It was heavenly, and now I'm hooked. A variety of seafood is offered, according to what's fresh that day. Our waiter recommended a local Sicilian white wine on our first visit, and a local red on our second. Both wines were excellent and yet under 20E per bottle. Prices were reasonable, with primi (pasta) courses about 7-14 euros, and secondi (fish/meat) entrees priced at 12-18E. Overall, it was a wonderful meal in a pleasant atmosphere, at a good value.
