Four of us stayed here for a week in May, having booked the apartment on the strength of the terrace. We were not disappointed, spending all our waking time when in the apartment on the terrace. The generally well-equipped kitchen, although there is no oven or microwave, is at the same level as the terrace which was very convenient. There’s is a large gas BBQ available which we didn’t use, but would serve as an oven.
All the basics provided (washing liquids, cleaning materials etc.) as well as some condiments (olive oil, vinegar, S&P) – and even a welcome bottle of wine and a few beers. Really makes a difference not having to start from scratch.
The apartment was immaculate on arrival, transport from Catania arranged through the owner, and were warmly greeted by the agent, Veronica. Two flights of fairly narrow stairs lead to the apartment, with bedrooms/bathrooms and hall at the lower level. The apartment felt very secure, and the location itself felt safe - the da Vinci museum (well worth a visit) is immediately opposite the apartment entrance.
Bathrooms were not as ‘gloomy’ as they look in the photos although the ‘wet room’ shower drainage was poor which meant the bathroom floor got fairly wet when showering. Both bedrooms are very spacious, light and airy with comfortable beds and plenty of storage. WiFi superb, even available on most of the terrace. Check the rubbish collection calendar though as there are daily collections for different materials!
Only potential issue is that there is no inside lounge/sitting area, so in inclement weather the only communal space would be the small kitchen. But it’s Sicily, and we only had one poor morning in our weeks stay in early May, and the terrace is superb with separate dining and sheltered sitting areas with quality furniture.
Finally, and not an apartment issue, we deliberated between Syracusa and Taormina and decided on Syracusa with a side trip to Taormina. We made the right decision, Syracusa is an appealing working town, albeit with a significant tourist element. Taormina is just another expensive international resort, albeit in a stunning location.
It's great to spend time in beautiful places and interiors. Imaginarium has delighted us with its beauty. It was wonderful to wake up in the morning in a huge comfortable bed and then drink coffee on the wonderfully sunny terrace. I loved this place where I found everything that was necessary for us, and it also had high esthetics values. The Internet works very fast in the apartment. Thank you, Mario, for the wonderful time spent in your Imaginarium.
