“Fabulous Fish”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

If you want to eat a delicious fish dinner in the pretty Ortigia, this is the place. One can sit outside along the water (or inside). The food is fresh and tasty and the prices are reasonable. Service was attentive and friendly. The owner, Gaetano and his wife are so helpful and kind and act as though you are guests in their home. Darsena was a great introduction to our visit to this beautiful town.
Grazie e saluti da NYC,
Barbara e Rob

“Excellent”
Reviewed August 8, 2013

We saw Darsena Ristorante near the waterway in Seracusa and had to stop. The setting is picturesque. We ordered and were promptly served. It was a hot day and the owner or manager and server, Francesco, made sure we had cool water and ice. We highly recommend the pomodora and the buffet. This restaurant helped us to get back on our feet to finish the tour. Great food, great servers, and a beautiful view. Lunch was perfect.

“Recommended by Italians and not disappointed”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

This restaurant was recommended to us by an Italian friend but actually stumbled on by chance. We ate lunch outside and enjoyed bread, spaghetti with tomatoes and swordfish in a Syracusa sauce. It was all very good and served attentively. There was even live accordion music but not too much of it!

“Enjoyable lunch”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

Positioned across the street from the water near the bridge onto Ortigia, this restaurant offered us a pleasurable lunch in the outdoor seating on a sunny June day. It’s here that I discovered pistachio bronte, a pistachio sauce that was served over fresh swordfish – divine.

“We were ripped off!”
Reviewed June 15, 2013

We fell across this restaurant on our first night in Siracusa – unfortunately neither myself nor my partner eat seafood, so we can’t comment on that. We ordered 2 tomato spaghetti’s and a bruschetta, along with water and Wine. The food was ok, though we tried to order another bruschetta and this never came. When we asked for the bill we noticed we had been grossly overcharged on every item i.e. adding €1 to basically everything – the bruschetta was €6 for just 2 pieces of bread! When we told the waiter that the bill was wrong, he didn’t even apologise or looked shocked, implying this was normal working practice. The food was ok but the customer service was awful – if you do try this restaurant, be sure to check your bill!
