“From temple to church”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

This structure was amazing. Built in the 6th Cenury B.C it is supported by the original doric columns. I got a little dizzy inside the church just thinking about all the years that have passed since this edifice was created.

“elegance”

another great Italian cathedral.BUT you have to like baroque;it's always a little over the top. The columns that still have the rough feel of their Greek origins make it special

2500 year old builging built by the conquering Greeks now a uniquely beautiful catholic basilica. Well worth the trip.

Lots of restaurants around with reasonable prices.

“Spectacular”

Where else can you see a cathedral that incorporates Greek columns from the Temple of Athena? Not only that, but the square in front of the cathedral is beautiful and vibrant.

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

Very much more interesting in fact than in experience. Stunning on the outside, lacking in visual richness on the inside but with such a complex historical development that it merits attention.
