Built between 1966 and 1968, this church was designed by Michel Andrault and Pierre Parat asa reminder of "Lacrimazione della Madonna". Modelled on the shape of a teardrop, the building reaches a height of approximately 90m. It was commissioned to house a statue of the Virgin that allegedly wept for five days in 1953 and bestowed over 300 miraculous cures within a matter of months. It opened in 1994 (not sure why there was an almost 30 year delay?) and is a spectacular modern church whose soaring pinacle can be seen from almost all of the city.
