“Definitely a defining landmark in the city”
Reviewed June 2, 2014

This beautiful fountain, sculpted in 1906, depicts Diana's transformation of the nymph Arethusa into a spring to help her escape the advances of the river god Alpheus. The artistry of the piece is fantastic day or night and the fountain a welcome landmark and resting place after walking all over Ortigia.

“Beautiful statue/fountain”
Reviewed May 19, 2014

The fountain of Diana by Giulio Moschetti (1906) is located in the centre of the Piazza Archimede which is at the top of the Corso Giacomo Matteotti.

The fountain has lovely statues of fish and seahorses on which Tritons and Nereids are mounted as a very imposing statue of a nude Diana

“Elegant Fountain”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

When strolling through the island that sits across the bridges from the main part of Syracuse you'll certainly happen upon the Fountain of Diana. It's great for a photo opportunity and gives the piazza a comfortable feel.

“Beautiful Fountain...”
Reviewed January 25, 2014

What a pretty fountain. My kids enjoyed this one too and made up stories of all the riders and where they were headed. It was very beautiful. We had our lunch in the square and enjoyed it very much. We had pizza and calzones from the little shop that is not easy to miss if you are by the fountain. Worth the stop to see!
