Description: Pizzeria Restaurant Caravaggio is located in the heart of the historical center of Ortigia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Surrounded by historical sites, it is an example of the great legacies of the past. Walking through the streets of the historic center, take a dip in the atmosphere of the past, feel the breath of the great history of eras and peoples who once lived and now live here. Yes, we are not on a busy street with windows and seductive advertising. But if you turn from Corso Mateotti, and there, at the corner of via Mirabella and via Dione, is a good place where you can enjoy the delights of the local cuisine in an atmosphere of tranquility, comfort and kindness. We have all the capabilities to service the tourist groups up to 60 people. To do this, we have developed several tourist menu with the price range of 15 to 30 euros, which includes antipasti, first, second, dessert and drinks.

A local recommended this pizzeria/ristorante. Tucked away along the twisted narrow alleyways, good food and great service at reasonable prices. Micele our waiter spoke very good English, giving us a sip of his homemade limoncello (very good, not too alcoholic like others we've tasted) before giving us the recipe. Some meals were unavailable, but there were other deliciious meals to choose from.

We had lunch here on a very hot day. When we entered the restaurant at 1PM we were the only customers which is always a bit scary.
Pizza was quite good, although a bit loaded on the cheese side.
Child size pizza for kids was perfect size and nice to have.
Salads were mediocre with industrially source ingredients.
Service very friendly as often in SIciliy, as long as you are not in a hurry. Prices quite reasonable.
The food was way too much but i guess it was just too hot to be having pizza for lunch any how.
When we left, a couple of other tourists had joined us in the restaurant.

As a conclusion : this stop was OK, would have appreciated better quality salads.

I realise that others have had a good experience here but we went tonight and it was really not upto scratch. We got there at 8:30 and there were only 2 other diners. One of the pasta dishes we ordered was already not available. The antipasti was fine but we had to wait so long for the main course. Mine came and I had aten it and the salad before my wife's simple pasta Norma arrived! The waiter told us it was because the kitchen was express! It was anything but! The food was adequate no more. We had a much better meal in the osteria opposite the previous night.

We stumbled on this restaurant very early in the evening for Italian dining and so were the only people there for a while. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I didn't write down the Italian names but we had the Carpaccio and Seared Tuna appetizers and the Risotto with Shrimp and Lemon and a dish of clams and pasta. They were all delicious. We got a complimentary little glass of limoncello at the end. I would recommend Caravaggio.

AMAZING RESTAURANT,WITH AN AMAZING FOOD AND SERVICE AS WELL!!!!REALLY I HAVE NEVER EATEN IN MY LIFE SOME SEAFOOD LIKE THAT!!!MANY CONGRATULATIONS TO THE KITCHEN AN TO THE WAITER AS WELL FOR HIS RACCOMANDATIONS!!!Location: Good location IN ORTIGIA ISLAND, SIRACUSA. Easy to find. Close to great shopping, temples, and not too far from the sea.
Interior: Lovely authentic Italian. Warm colours and interesting things to look at.
Atmosphere: We went on a Sunday evening about 7 30pm. It was full with people in and out all the time so had a good buzz. I imagine on a sat and also during the week it keeps a friendly and sociable vibe.
Food: AMAZING! Pasta that melts in your mouth, sauces that ooze flavour and the best choccolate souffle' I have ever had. Just got back from Genoa, Italy and this places serves just as good food as the real deal.
Service: Friendly and helpful. They know they have good food!

Would recommend this little place to anyone, particularly those that have a soft spot for Italian cuisine.
