“Avoid if at all possible”

There are only 2 reasons I even gave this hotel 1 star.
1) Location is perfect for visiting the archeological park
2) Maria of the wait staff. She went above and beyond.
Otherwise! The food was horrible. We had shoe leather (roast beef) and baby food (frozen string beans that were over cooked). The shower stall was moldy. The shower doors kept falling off. The a/c was not working and sounded like a jet engine. The bed was hard and pillows flat. The hallway had a foul odor.
We stayed here with a tour group so we had no choice but, certainly recommended to the tour director that they change hotels.

Other than the archeological park, there's nothing in the vicinity of this hotel except for retail shops, so walking to a restaurant for dinner is out of the question. There is off-street parking but space is limited, so you may or may not find a place to park. The bar is a joke; they were out of such cocktail staples as lime juice and sugar. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant, which we thought was fine. The raucus group of high school students in the room next door made our first night somewhat unpleasant and the hotel did nothing to quiet them down after I complained. We checked in immediately after the room had been made up and the cleaning staff had used so much disinfectant in the bathroom as to be unbearable, even with the bathroom door closed. Also, the room was incredibly cramped, with the bathroom door not being openable without moving the desk chair. They did move us to a second room on the second night away from the students. That room was pleasantly spacious. The hotel is on a busy street, but I found the windows to be quite effective in shutting out the outside noise. We needed to stay in the vicinity of this hotel for personal reasons but unless you get a really good deal, there's no reason to stay here other than the strong wi-fi signal.

A real disappointment. Not a four star - youth-hostel at best and we stayed at way better youth-hostels around the world. Walls as thick as a cardboard-box. Small room - tiny window - a real dump.
But nice and friendly staff and good starting point for archeological sites.

This is an old hotel that has been spruced up a bit with new furniture. Floors old and noisy. Walls paper thin. Bathrooms old and not very clean. Restaurant was poor serving frozen food overcooked and they had the nerve to list the chief's name on the menu. Wifi worked only near the elevator not in the room. Pillows were disgusting but the rest of the linens ok. Breakfast was ok but not up to 4 star standards. Would not feel comfortable walking around this area after dark. This hotel is no better than a Motel 6 in the US.

After having read some of the Trip Advisor reviews of this hotel, my husband and I decided to book a one-night stay there while in Sicily. Unfortunately, this hotel fell far short of my expectations.

The hotel is located on a very busy main street in Siracusa, and was therefore less than quiet and restful. The gentleman that greeted us at Reception was extremely pleasant and welcoming, which started things off on a good note. He however forgot to mention that he needed to provide us with a Wifi password voucher in order to be able to access the hotel's "free Wifi". Take note that a separate voucher is necessary for EACH user - something we found out on our own. Okay, so the hotel boasts "free Wifi" throughout the hotel. This may be the case, however actually getting a connection is next to impossible - either in our room OR in the lobby! Not impressed. Our room was very basic, and smelled of something rather unpleasant when we first entered. The door to our room was difficult to keep closed, and could often simply be touched lightly from the hall for it to open! Having arrived tired and hungry, we opted to just eat in the hotel's restaurant at the recommendation of the gentleman at Reception. Our meal was a farce. Upon reviewing the menu, we noticed an asterisk beside nearly all of the main courses. Much to our dismay, we realized that this referred to the fact that frozen (vs fresh) items were used in those entrees! This was definitely NOT what we expected from a 4-star hotel restaurant in Sicily!! I decided to order the salmon - one of the ONLY items that did not have an asterisk beside it - and it arrived at my table completely overcooked and dry. We gave up, paid our bill of 30 euros, and retired for the night. While our bed itself was fine, the pillows were awful, and resulted in a sleepless night for me. Not sure how this hotel earned its 4-star rating, but I'm afraid I wouldn't recommend this hotel, nor would I every stay there again.

All in all quite a good hotel, parking, close to archaeological park.
But cleanliness poor. Male cleaner, no eye for dirt esp in bathroom. Other areas of hotel similar, disconcerting. Breakfast also could be improved
Front desk o.k.

Spent two nights in a room overlooking the street. First night new guests arrived very late and I could hear every voice, footstep, bathroom visit etc. Plumbing at 0600 the following morning woke me up. Second night there was a guy next door who had an extremely loud very long phone call between 2300 and about 0400. Tried getting him to shut up via the main desk - nothing. Banged on the adjoining wall - just abuse in Italian. Went and banged on his door at 0100 and he just stood on the other side shouting abuse. My alarm went off at 0500 as I was leaving early to the airport. Not much fun at all. Restaurant was fairly mediocre too. Free but limited parking.

Room Tip: Maybe away from the street is better but adjoining walls seem very insubstantial & lots of noise...
