Description: Nestled in one of the alleys of Ortigia, a small charming restaurant, with attention to every detail: From the choice of the raw ingredients to the warm welcome. From a polite, attentive service to the lights and background music. The kitchen offers local dishes with some culinary provocation that reinterprets the tradition. We have chosen to propose a short menu in order to ensure quality and freshness of the product and it varies continuously according to the offer of the market and the seasons. Raw material of excellence, fish exclusively from the Mediterranean and in a series of sought and exclusively seasonal dishes. The wine cellar offers mainly autochthonous wines and vines, giving preference to organic wines of Sicilian wineries of excellence. Finally, delicate desserts all home made: The ricotta mousse with orange and cinnamon fragrances, the pistachio flan and other delights of the house. Dine with us and treat yourself with the pleasure of discovering a contemporary, classic Sicilian cuisine.

This is a good small restaurant specialising in fish and the sardine starters (a dish you see a lot round here) were excellent. The menu is small (it was said to guarantee freshness and we found this convincing) and was explained very carefully by the excellent host who owned the restaurant. Having chosen our food the owner's son helped us choose the wine. This place has a good atmosphere and we enjoyed our meal. If you like fish it's highly recommended.

Off the beaten path, and away from the ubiquitous tourist traps, this restaurant served savory Sicilian fare. The tight quarters gave it an informal and unpretentious air that contrasted against the fresh and delicious dishes. Wine recommendations were very accurate.

Dinner at Dionisio was a pleasant surprise. Started with fried sardines and octopus appetizers, next was gnocchi with shrimp ( no raised eyebrows to split), sea bass and tuna (so fresh), creme caramel for dessert. Wine was crisp white grown in Mt. Etna area, bill was under 100 Euros. Fabulous father and son duo orchestrated entire meal. Wonderful!

Our hotel (Algila) recommended this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The charming owner (Alfio) explained every course on the limited menu and his son carefully recommended the wine. We had an excellent evening in great surroundings. We will definitely reurned, if we visit Syracuse again.

My boyfriend and I were staying in Ortigia for a couple of days so found a few restaurants to visit nearby and ended up here. It was great. The service was amazing - I'm learning Italian so the nice man spoke Italian to me very slowly so I could keep up and gave us some great recommendations. I asked for a glass of prosecco with dinner and got a massive glass which lasted me all meal. Yum!
The food was also wonderful. Recommend sardines for antipasti, cous cous for primi and ricotta mousse for dessert. Yum!
In short - do it, go there :)
