Its a large museum with a very complete collection of art and archeological pieces of all of Sicily, its a great introduction to the history of all of Sicily. Very well organized and very easy to walk through and understand.

Housed in a splendid modern building, the collection of Greek artefacts is amazing in quantity and quality. Well curated and despite minimal English labelling, easy to interpret. Don't expect a cafe though!

The coin collection is of great interest, even if you aren't normally interested in coins. The layout struck us as odd and confusing.

reading the reviews before visiting syracuse we were warned about the layout of the museum before entering it. The collection is one of its kind, there is so much pottery etc. on display here they probably could have filled a museum double its size. Getting around we also got a bit lost in some of the sections , and the only help in finding the route & exit consisted of smal green arrows in certain locations. But that should not detract anybody from visiting here, the quality and amount of items on display make more than up for that
