“Beautiful and Charming”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

What a terrific introduction to Sicily for us. We spent 2 nights here, which gave us plenty of time to wander about. This place still has a feeling of being ancient, out of time. The piazza is breath-taking. It seems as though every time we turned around there was another beautiful building or vista. The people were invariably friendly and helpful.

“Great place for a stroll”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

Just wandering in the medieval streets of that very ancient city is a pleasure not to be missed. Then relax at the café facing the cathedral. You'll be charmed.

“Just the best place”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

The fact you could easily walk all the way around the island and so much to see.
I was a little disappointed that some sites appear not to be cared for

It was very quiet as it was off season, but the sites were nice and the sea views were great. Every store and cafe we went into people were very friendly and helpful.

“One of Europe's loveliest spots”
Reviewed November 13, 2012

I expected Ortygia to be very interesting and beautiful and I hoped it would be something very special. And it was really special; Piazza del Duomo was one of the loveliest Piazzas I have ever seen (and I have seen many) and the narrow streets, the restaurants, the bars, the fortress.......it was just breath taking. We stayed at Hotel Roma, which had an unbeatable location.
