“Better than the catacombs of Rome.”
Reviewed July 24, 2012

Please somebody, tell the tour guide that the word is pronounced "toom" not "Tom". So irritating. Best catacombs in Italy. Very good tour. And cool. In 40 degrees of July heat, it's the only sensible place in Syracuse to be.

“Guide fails to do the place justice”
Reviewed July 12, 2012

Extraordinary underground city of the dead. However, the scale was not evident from the short guided tour. Guide had poor English so I found myself struggling to follow the Italian version (which was fuller).

“Tour was good”
Reviewed July 6, 2012

Tour guide said everything in both Italian and English. We knew enough Italian to know some things were left out, but we were glad not to have missed the wonderful history of this spot.

“Very immpressive”
Reviewed June 25, 2012

The tour is only 8 Euro and is done by and very skilled and enthusiastic guide.
The place is a real part of JudeoChristian history.

“Another let-down”
Reviewed April 23, 2012

We had no quarrel with having to go with a guide--it is their site after all and it is hard to maintain. But the guide was a power hungry tyrant, the tour was limited in scope and duration, and she conveyed no information that wasn't in the Blue Guide.
