We've visited most of the other Greek and Roman archaeological sites around the Med but this has to be the worst presented site of them all.
Ticketing and signage is chaotic or non-existent. When we at least found a ticket office the assistant didn't look up from his mobile phone to serve us, and gave us a leaflet in the wrong language. Large areas are cordoned off for no apparent reason (eg half the path around the Roman amphitheatre is closed off, I find steps difficult but the disabled ramp entrance to the Greek theatre was locked off, and looks as if it had been for a long time). The Roman ampitheatre itself is very overgrown with potentially destructive shrubs and trees. There is only access to one cave but more indicated as being open on the leaflet.
Incredibly important archaeological site but terrible presentation.

Review of: Entrance ticket

I was sceptical of my visit to the old amphitheatre because I thought it would ruin my trip.
But as it turned out it rocked. Or as I learnt from my visit - it basalt rocked.

I agree with one of the other avowers - the signage is poor, the staff on duty were generally unhelpful and on arrival via the hop on hop off bus, we discovered that the ticket office we went to was in the opposite direction to the park. Great
having said all the it is certainly worth a visit - the whole area is more than interesting and there is superb example of a Greek amphitheater. Very big.
Cafe available for snacks and drink

Billed as one of best preserved Greek Theaters anywhere. No it wasn't. We tried our best to make the best of this tour of the Neapolis Archeological Park but just couldn't do it. It was very disappointing - we left the tour early. If you go be sure to have euros for the toilets.

This is a wonderful place that needs signs to tell you the simplest of things . I rode on the Hop on bus so I went to the nearest ticket office . Ok now where do I go and where in the hell do I get in ? At 10 euro I should not have to ask this as I can read some Italian . After I finally figured I was to cross the road from the bus stop I entered the Roman amphitheater ? Had it not been for a fellow from England asking about the shirt I was wearing I would have got back on the next bus . A weed eater and gasoline to run it is long overdue . He told me not to leave that the rest of the park was much more beautiful and worth my while . Well yes it was so take the proceeds from just one day and improve the signage as this is such a worthwhile place and well worth the price of admission. Whack some weeds and everything will be fine
