Recommended by a friend, La Tavernetta da Piero seemed like any other small restaurant--from the street. But, once we were seated, it was obvious that we had joined the local community in the heart of Syracusa. Reservations are a MUST here as we saw numerous people turned away. (We reserved on the internet and were quickly confirmed.) The pasta course were great but the fish entrees were delicious. The owner suggested a nice bottle of wine for us. Cannoli for dessert was wonderful--no sharing on this one! We'd definitely go back. It really isn't "chancy" at all.
