We stayed almost a week, and to just say that this hotel is a great value is an understatement. It is a brand new very modern and beautiful hotel that belongs to the only horse racing track in this part of Sicily, from which horse racing and training can be watched for free from the astonishing restaurant view or from your room with a balcony. In addition it has two swimming pools and a SPA + massage and beauty centre to enjoy even in winter. Breakfast was very varied and excellent, and they would even make scrambled eggs with bacon as requested. Staff was very gentle and competent. At my request they brought me my preferred journals every day charging just the 1 euro standard price. It is 5 minutes away from Fontane Bianche, one of the best beaches in Sicily, and 15 minutes from Siracuse, so I could very much enjoy swimming in the warm sea water and have dinner in a nice restaurant at night in Ortigia, like "Le Vin de L'Assassin", no doubt one of the best restaurants at reasonable 30 euro/person you can find in Sicily. Once we had dinner in the hotel restaurant to watch the horse races, and the food was excellent, and at a very reasonable 30 euro/person price. Overall we had a great stay and to be sure, we plan to come back, even in winter.

Room Tip: If you like horses, try to reserve a room to the side of the horse racing track. anyway you can always watch horse racing from the restaurant and the track itself.

let's put it this way: we needed as soon as possible a place to stay near Siracusa. We booked while being at the beach suntanning, a friend of mine just found this place and booked moments before her smartphone died.

we paid 660 for a three day stay, 4 people.

so not bad, i'd guess

Pro:
1)the place is close to Siracusa, just near the motorway which we used and abused to go back and forth to Siracusa, Avola, Noto and other villages.

Drawbacks
1)maybe not so clean
2)buffet not so abundant
but more important
3) NO WIRELESS, which was killing me considering that the just 2 didn't have broad band or were to old, i don't know, i couldn't browse the internet

anyway

nice place, but it's not 5 stars at all!

Arriving at the hotel was slightly overwhelming, it is huge. In addition, having the Hippodrome next to it made it look rather obscene. However when we arrived in the lobby at reservations disappeared. Our welcome was warm and sincere. We were taken to our room, a huge, luxurious space with views of the garden. However our TV didnt have any signal so we were moved instantly to another room which had a view of the racecourse- result!!! very high tech room with a push button control panel for lights, air con etc.
Reception were very friendly, especially Dilala Scalone- she was absolutely lovely, very helpful. My husband casually mentioned to her that we would be celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary that evening and would dine in the restaurant before going our to the races. We were greeted in the restaurant with a glass of prosecco and some anti pasti on the house- what a lovely gesture. When we returned to our room there was another little treat, courtesy of Dilala.
The races were the icing on the cake- these go on Wednesday and Saturday evenings.
Breakfast was ok, you could ask for a variety of coffees and eggs. They didn't seem to replenish breakfast so if you get there late be prepared to have a limited selection.
Gym area was nice and the pool areas lovely. We didnt use the indoor pool but it looked inviting. The hotel was a fair distance from the centre, you really must have a car to get around, unless you intend staying in the hotel. This would be a shame as Syracuse is lovely. Ortiga has a host of cobbled streets with lovely restaurants and shopping is handy. We went to Don Camillo- high end restaurant which was amazing. Booking is highly recommened- as is an empty stomach as the portions are enormous!
A really great hotel, yes out of the centre but well worth it.

Room Tip: Either balcony or racecourse side

My wife and I stayed here on June 15and enjoyed the ambiance that no other hotel can boast. Waking to the sight of a race track outside from your balcany is amazing. We watched the horses being put through their workouts in awe. We also enjoyed a good breakfast with the same view from the dining room. The amenities are 1st rate and the staff is competent. We had a car and drove to Syracuse to enjoy the city after dark. Abeautiful city with great food . If you want a unique experience, this is it!

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL unless you don't want to see anything at all, and you are only interested in horse racing. This hotel is so far removed from the city it is a joke. The website says only a few minutes from the city centre of Siracusa - it is not! It is more like 30 minutes, and will cost you 40 euro everytime you travel out to anywhere. There is no shuttle service, no local and close bus stop, no taxi rank, no near train station. You are literally stuck there. The hotel itself is very modern and clean, and the room was large and tidy, however, you would want it to be, as there is nothing else to do here. The pool looked nice, but we didn't stay long enough to experience it. When we arrived, we were starving - we asked for food: no room service was available, no restaurant was open within 20 miles of the place and we couldnt even get a drink as their bar was closed! So much for a hotel, spa and resort: room to stay in, yes, no shread of evidence of it being a hotel or resort! We left within 2 hours of being their and moved to the beautiful Hotel Alfeo in Siracusa - now that was a place to stay, not at this s**t hole of a place.

Dear Sir,
Good evening from Eureka Palace.
I want to inform you that you have to read better our web site because we are very precise “Few minutes away from Siracusa and Noto, both Cities Heritage of UNESCO (World Heritage List), stands Eureka Palace Hotel Spa Resort.” And there is a a very precise google map. Then we specify that the hotel is not in Syracuse.
We want to inform you that the hotel is at 18 km (11,2 miles) from Syracuse and 3 km (1,87 mile) from Fontane Bianche, the Syracuse’s white sand beaches, then when you say that the first restaurant is at 20 miles, perhaps you mistake the distance.

We remain at your disposal and send our best regards.
