As you drive through Siracusa to this B&B, you keep thinking... where the heck would I park my car? Then you meet Enzo - the owner of this B&B-, who is not only welcoming you but helps you finding a spot and carrying your luggage. Next you enter through the tiny door of the B&B into a fully renovated building in a prime location in Ortigia.
Common areas and rooms seem to belong to a boutique hotel. Decorated very finely, you keep thinking that you would not have any problem to spend a week there, but alas... your vacation is not that long.
Enzo will passionately flood you with information about Siracusa and everything you can and should do. Instead of fighting against the little time you probably have on order to do everything, just collect all the info you have got and go according to your curiosity, interests or mood.

There was no time to enjoy the patio of the B&B, but I would have liked to. Breakfast is not served at the property, but upon request Enzo will provide coupons for one of the finest places in the Cathedral square.

it is the people you meet that really make your trip pleasurable. This is true of Enzo and he made our stay at his Charme Ares B&B truly a treat. We enjoyed Ortigia and Siracusa very much and Enzo made our stay that much better. We enjoyed our accommodation including the room and the location. Enzo is a real ambassador for his city and the isle of Sicily, wanting all his guests to have the best experience possible. He informed us of many local sights and stories that would have otherwise gone unnoticed and unappreciated. We took his recommendations for restaurants on two nights and they did not disappoint. We would recommend this B&B to friends travelling to Siracusa and would stay there again if we are lucky enought to return.

This is a wonderful place. Enzo is fantastic. The rooms are beautifully furnished and spacious. We were with 2 other couples, all family with different interests. Enzo recommended sites and foods for all of our different tastes. He definitely loves Ortigia.

Appearing almost out of thin air when I was looking for cannolis for my husband. He took me to the shop with the "best cannolis in Ortigia.

We were a group of six (three couples) and all of us highly recommend Charmes Ares. It is a lovely B&B in a great location but the real treat is the host, Enzo. He is so proud of his city, its history and all the effort that's going into restoration work and he clearly loves sharing his passion for Ortigia with others. He is pleased to recommend places to see, including some personal favorites that are not on the usual tourist maps. (Ask about the grotto across the bridge in Syracuse.) As other reviewers have noted, breakfast at the Duomo is a nice alternative to an in-house meal and the perfect location for watching Ortigia come to life in the morning.

We chose Charme Ares B&B based on trip advisor reviews and really glad we did!

Enzo was a great host giving us fab restaurant recommendations and things to do and see, he even walked us to the bus stop the day we were leaving to show us where to get the free shuttle to the station! Breakfast at the Duomo was great, what a perfect setting and only 5 minutes walk from the B&B!!

The location is great, central in Ortiga, but fairly quiet. Rooms were lovely and very clean. There is a shared fridge for chilling your juice/water (just remember to take your bottles when you leave!).

I've been meaning to put a review on here for ages and feel a bit guilty for not doing so before. This place is really highly recommended. Enzo is a charming and enthusiastic host who has a wealth of local knowledge which he's happy to share with you. The place itself is in a great location on the Ortigia and the breakfast arrangements are great: it's one of the most attractive places I've ever had breakfast.

But really the main selling point is the fantastic Enzo. The other reviewers have got it absolutely right but our particular experience says a lot about him: we had a pretty bad car crash whilst touring nearby and had an absolute nightmare with the car rental company (don't ever use Locauto Rent) who refused to help us out and left us stranded. Enzo did absolutely everything he could to help us out and to try to stop us being screwed by the rental company (to no avail but that wasn't his fault). He devoted a considerable amount of time to us and, to commiserate when it became clear it wasn't working out, came up with an extra-special restaurant recommendation. He's an absolute star and you should have no worries about putting your holiday in his hands!

The sweetest hosts I have met. He spent a long time to give us the best advice - both swimming opportunities, attractions and restaurants. Great room with balcony, perfect air conditioning and a nice bathroom. Can not recommend Charme Ares enough.
