There is nothing really wrong with this hotel, the design is lovely, it is in a good spot, the breakfasts are fine, but it just lacked something for me. A few niggles such as having to ask for extra towels and toilet paper because these weren't replenished, the loud noise of the toilet flushing upstairs, the view with the car park in front, the small room and poky bathroom took the gloss off somewhat and for me meant that it was just not worth the money. The absolute best thing about this hotel however is the staff - they cannot do enough for you.

Room Tip: Don't pay extra for a sea view, you will over look the car park which is noisy and bright all ni...

Dear Sir,
thank you for taking the time to release its review.
I'm sorry youhave had the problems you describe, perhaps a mixup on what it will be my duty to investigate. In the room there are always replacements in equipment and in the afternoon the room is cleaned up and towels changed.
If the customer is in his room at the time of replacement, it is not our habit to bother him we but remain available at any time to provide fresh towels and what may need.
Thank you very much for your kind words towards our staff

I hope to be able to accommodate you once again
Sincerely
Mariella Taranto

Congratulations to an employer who can hire and retain staff for whom nothing is TOO much trouble.

An utterly "charming" Italian hotel in an excellent location for touring Ortigia Syracuse. The staff were wonderful and made our stay.

Take a junior suite to enhance your enjoyment.

Based on Trip Advisor reviews and the lovely photos on the hotel's website, we stayed here with another couple for two nights. Though both couples reserved "double classic" rooms, our friends got the one corner room in the hotel, which was very large, and we got a small room. Now that we've stayed here, I believe the spacious rooms shown on the website are the top floor suites. Other than the small room, we liked the location of the hotel on Ortigia, the generous breakfasts and the free WiFi in the lobby. I especially appreciated that they made fresh juice and water along with delicious almonds available to guests at no charge throughout the day.

Room Tip: Splurge for one of the suites or ask for the corner room on Floor 1.

We stayed 6 nights in this beautiful hotel, which had loads of character, but had been refurbished to provide all modern comforts. Breakfast was amazing with a huge choice of cold and hot options. The staff were wonderful and couldn't have been more helpful, arranging transport for us, and providing lots of advice on what to do and where to eat. The location is ideal for visiting Siracusa and Ortigia, most of which can easily be done on foot. We would definitely recommend.

The instructions to get there were spot on with places to park out front. The hotel has two allocated spaces for drop off and will then move your car for you.
The accomodation was fine as was the breakfast, however the service could be slicker if guests could help themselves to basic items such as cold meats or cheese. It was great to have the option of eggs cooked to taste.
We really thought that the hotel was missing out by not having a roof terrace for guests, where after a weary day you could sit and admire the lovely view whilst having a drink or two.
If you like sea food then do try the Apollonia restuarant which has a fixed 6 course menu which is delicious, but a reservation is usually neccessary.

Room Tip: We were in room 204 which had a freestanding roll top bath / shower and it was impossible to have a...

We did stay at this Hotel for three days at the end of March and it was wonderful. The staff was friendly and helped us where they could. As the hotel is well situated in the old town of Syracuse with limited parking space, we received one of the free parking lots before the hotel.

The rooms and the Hotel itself are very well decorated. We had a junior suite with sea view and as the weather was really nice at the end of March, we had a lovely view over the sea, which however would have been perfect if there wasn't the parking lot in front of the hotel :)

Because we traveled with our small child, we couldn't eat out for dinner and ate therefore at the hotel restaurant which was delicious at a very reasonable price. Sadly, the restaurant wasn't open all night, so the concierge ordered us some very tasty pizza.

Would definitely recommend this Hotel to other travelers who seek a small city hotel in the old town of Syracuse.

Spent 5 nights in this hotel last week and it was perfect. The building itself was beautiful and had a lot of character - a lot more cosy and homely than other hotels I've stayed in. I was in a single room which was fairly basic, but had everything I needed and I thought was great value. Breakfast was a highlight for me. Staff were on hand to offer cooked options, along with coffees, but I went for the fresh fruit every day which was absolutely delicious. There was also a huge array of breads, cereals and pastries. Definitely also try the fresh orange juice! I didn't use the restaurant but I had a drink in the bar a couple of evenings and the wine was lovely. Ultimately it was all the little touches that made this hotel so great - complimentary soft drinks in my room's mini fridge (just what I needed when I arrived quite late!), juice and waters left out during the day for you to help yourself, free wifi in the lobby, treats on your pillow in the evening, and staff who were always happy to help with any question or request. I could have happily moved in permanently :)

Room Tip: I stayed in room 301 on the top floor which had a lovely slanting roof.
