This place was wonderful for its price. The rooms were big, the bathrooms were big, and the staff was very friendly. The place was very clean and the breakfast that they served was very delicious. The location was also very great, and was within walking distance from the train station and the port. There was also a very luxurious and welcoming common area with books and a big screen tv. I felt very safe and secure in this building and this said, there is not always a person at the front desk, so make sure that you know the time you are coming in aligns with the hours that someone is there to greet you, otherwise it will be difficult to get in. Overall, a great place to stay and a very welcoming feel. I would stay here again when I go back to Palermo.

Everything is good, but there is NO kitchen for visitors, as user ibrahimdesign wrote. They didn't permit us using microwave oven and refrigerator. This is bad, since for breakfast at cafes you can find only fat sweat pastries.

I stayed for a week in the Palazzo Savona. Althought it is nothing luxurious, it is very clean and well maintained. The hotel is a building constructed in the middle of the 1920s on the corner of Via Roma and Via Vittoria Emmanuelle. For that reason, it is admittedly rather noisy. That said, if you closed the shutters and the windows, you blocked out most of the noise.

The hotel is really perfectly situated: only seven minutes by foot to the train stations to make excursions out of town, and just steps away from Quattro Canti, Piazza Pretoria and La Martorana. La Kalsa and the Vucchiria are also just steps away. The entrance of the hotel is a bit dark if you arrive at night, but the building is safe and really beautiful on the interior.

The beds were clean and comfortable, although the bedsheets were a bit threadbare.

The hotel felt in some way like being in an American university dormitory: you have your own private bedroom, but there are shared bathrooms, along with a communal kitchen. All of the communal spaces were clean; the shower sometimes was a bit erratic with the hot water.

I would skip the breakfast there. Breakfast in Italy is simply execrable--nothing but sugary pastries, terrible if you're going sightseeing and you need something more substantive. On arrival, go to the supermarket and get whatever you need for breakfast (there is a clean refrigerator in the communal kitchen as well.)

It should also be pointed out that there is not always staff at the front desk. Make sure to check the hours that the staff will be there if you have any questions.

Next time I'm back in Palermo, I am definitely going to go back there again.

we stayed here for 5 nights. It was great for the price. we just wanted somewhere that was clean, safe, great location and cheep. It covered all of that to a T. the only down side is that the rooms over looking Via Roma are very noisy with the traffic so if you are a light sleeper then ask for a room not over looking Via Roma. Also the reception is not open 24/7 so if you want to check in outside those set hours then you have to organize it with them. The breakfast isn't great so you may be better off for your 3 euro walking down the street and getting something better. If you are just after a bed and some where to put your stuff while out sight seeing then this place is for you

Room Tip: Ask for a room not over looking Via Roma. it will be less noisy hopefully
