“Really friendly welcome!”
Reviewed August 23, 2011

We stayed here for 1 night on the way back from a week in Cefalu looking for venues for our yoga holidays. It was a little tricky to find and the street wasn't that great looking but the location perfect for the train station and to check out the sights. We spent most of our time eating because the food in Sicily is amazing. Our room was lovely and what you expect for a B&B but what REALLY made it was the lovely couple who run the place. They were so hospitable and made us feel at home straight away, even getting our room ready quickly as we turned up quite early. Breakfast the next morning was even more special as the signora baked us a cake as we had to leave early for our flight and so the bakeries weren't open for them to buy their usual pastries. We would definitely recommend this place and will be back! Thank you O'Scia for such a warm weclome and the little gift and card you gave us on our departure!

We stayed at the O' Scia for 3 nights and found it an excellent base for visiting the many cultural sites in Palermo. Roberto and his parents were extremely hospitable and very helpful with any questions we had. They recommended some great places to eat, and the best sites to visit during our brief stay.

I'd echo earlier comments regarding the abundant and and delicious breakfast, especially the ricotta pastries.

Room Tip: Great location for markets, restaurants etc

B+B O'Scia was a great place to stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is fantastic. Roberto and his parents are very welcoming and accommodating - thank you! I would recommend O'Scia as a lovely place to stay when you are next in Palermo. We would stay there again.

We arrived in Palermo early in the morning on the boat from Naples, and we were unsure whether we could get into the B&B so early to drop our bags, but we were not only welcomed with open arms and espresso, we were given a room right away and then upgraded to a better, more beautiful room. My Italian is not great, but I still had a great time talking with the couple that run this place. They were so helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. (The sweet ricotta buns they have in Palermo are heavenly). The B&B is convenient to the kalsa and to all the major sites by foot. Great stay to start our honeymoon in beautiful Sicily.

Even though we do not speak Italian, we set ourselves to lodge into the O'Scia B&B for two days in the beginning of our two week holiday at Sicily. We could not have had a better starting point in order to experience Palermo and Sicilian food and hospitality. We even chose there and then, to return after eleven days around the Island and had our last day and night on our Sicily holiday there as well.

Such friendly, helpful and trustworthy people is amazing to find so far from home. Language difficulties aside, with a bit english, some italian, but mostly arms, legs faces smiles and body, we had fun, and we got to know our way around, and we were even lead by our hands to a nearby restaurant the arriving evening.

They also gave us a lot of tips about what to see and do in Palermo during our short stay here, which to us stood out as a very special and interesting city, especially old town. They made us feel safe and courious when exploring the city.

The rooms are classic and have more than expected standard. We had two different rooms, and they were both to our satisfaction, and with a great mix of old, classic furniture and interior as well as clean and modern bathrooms. All with AirCondition and balcony, which was nice in July.

So much for the beds, the breakfast was also a capital B :-). A lot of it, more than enough to gain energy for walks during the day. And with the "dolce" as a breakfast desert with great coffe.

The O,Scia is very near the Train and Bus terminal, When standing in front of the terminal, where the buses stop, you have the Piazza Giulio Cesare in front of you. At the far right corner Via Abramo Lincoln runs down to the right. Follow it 50-60 meters down until you see a green pharmacy cross, here the street is named Corso Dei Mille, but changes name after two blocks to Via Garibaldi (the street signs are missing here)

Take left at the green pharmacy cross and on the left side two blocks down you will see different national flags on the second floors balconys. Opposite the building is a solid rock of an old building with almost no windows. In the center of the bulding with flags, at the doorway on the left side you will find a buzzer with the name O,Scia. Push it and you are home!

We were taken care of by these lovely and friendly people, and had two short stays here. Both enough to make us sure that we will return to O'Scia the next time we visit Sicily. No matter where we go on the Island next time, we will stop by a couple of nights in Palermo, and stay at O'Scia.

O'Scia was our first stop on a 3-week trip in Italy. The hotel's in a larger city block, so we had a little trouble finding it at first, but once inside it was delightful. The couple who run it greeted us with delicious cold watermelon. Throughout our trip they went out of their way to be helpful - explaining the buses to us when we wanted to go to the beach, and packing us off with bus tickets. The room was very spacious, with high ceilings and a large bathroom. Overall, a lovely start to our stay in Italy.

I stayed at O' scia' three times in a month: with my daughter, with my husband and on my own.
I chose the hotel because it was very close to the railway station and it was easier for my daughter and me, then I came back with my husband to enjoy Palermo and a wonderful hospitality.
We were pampered with delicious breakfasts and genuine food.
Roberto and his wife are hosts of sophisticated simplicity.
The location is great for beautiful churches and mouth-watering patisseries, for baroque palaces and lively music bars: a city coming back to life.

My granfather was from Palermo and I have been going there for a long long time, when it was dangerous to visit some places that are living again now. It was fine to give my English husband the pleasure of this city: still struggling but kind and beautiful.
