We loved our stay in Palermo largely due to the great service and superb location of this wonderful B&B. An excellent breakfast in the sunny dining room with charming staff- what better way to start the day. We asked for a guide as we had limited time and we wanted to access Palermo, Sergio was magnificent -can't recommend him highly enough. Thanks to him we loved this city and appreciated its complexity.
Great recommendations for restaurants from B&B staff added to our experience.

A recommendation from Vagabonda years ago finally came to fruition when we recently spent 4 very comfortable nights at the very private and intimate BB22. We loved the ease of accessibility to our bucket list of sights including Palazzos Branceforte, Steri & Abatelli. Our hosts willingly organised our restaurant bookings and gave great advice and suggestions. Breakfast was perfect for our needs, great coffee, fresh fruit and pastries.
We loved the place but you do need to be able to climb stairs!

Room Tip: We loved the Mandarino with broad covered terrace and beautiful tree.

Excellant choice for alternative to Hotel. Found near the port and within waking distance to all attractions and historical sites. Restaurants are varied and plentiful. Air conditioned ((thank God) and good firm beds.

Room Tip: Friendly and well appointed B&B. Bellisimo.

The owners are congenial, and well-informed, and are enthusiastic about Palermo specifically and Sicily in general. They are very helpful and we found them charming. Unusually for a small hotel, the ambiance is such that we found ourselves chatting to various other guests at breakfast. The common parts consist of a breakfast room and adjoining terrace, both of them unimpeachable. Breakfast itself is no great shakes but who expects much of hotel breakfasts? The coffee is fine and the mood is delightful. Our room was large, clean and flamboyantly furnished. We would thoroughly recommend it as a convenient and safe location for leisure travellers.

We had a delightful, spacious first floor room replete with balcony, electic objets and myriad oil paintings, even in the bathroom! Charming Massimo was patiently can-do with our endless questions, providing us with clear map directions, restaurant bookings/suggestions, and organising a super-smooth airport transfer on our arrival. All made for a memorable haven from the excitement and bustle of Palermo.

Room Tip: If you plan to read, ask if Massimo has a room with a balcony.

I wanted to try to photograph the gritty side of this once great city, and BB22 placed me on the edge of Vucciria, La Kalsa and the centro storico. The hotel readily arranged for a taxi to meet me at the airport . The company is a husband and wife team , both of whom are friendly and informative, reassuring me that it was safe to wander in the areas i wished and that there would be no contact with the Cosa Nostra; in fact , perversley perhaps, they would ensure I was fine! The road from the airport has the famous 'No Mafia' sign, lit up at night close to the monument to the sadly departed anti-mafia judges Falcone and Borsellino. The hotel itself has few rooms but once inside one could be in Milan; cool and spacious accomodation, a roof top lounge and a wonderful hostess, Patrizia, and staff. 2 minutes from the hotel is La Rinascente, which like its sister stores in Milan, Florence etc has a wonderful alfresco restaurant on the roof serving the best mozzarella and views of the city to the mountains in the distance. Vucciria is decrepit but fascinating for being so. The smells can be a little ripe, the architecture still bomb-damaged from the 1940s, and the alleyways dark , but the people are friendly and one quickly loses any sense of danger . This area and others such as Borgo Vecchio are run down, they are not pretty. This is not Florence or Turin. It is a city just holding onto its past grandeur, but it merits your time and reflection. There is more colour in a single street in Palermo than the whole of Verona. And at the end of a long day walking the city , BB22 and a glass of vino rosso whilst reading a book about Italian style in the rooftop lounge nicely completes the day.

This was our first B&B @ Palermo and we were charmed by its stylish decor. The atmosphere just went hand and hand with the ambiance. Placed in historic Vuccira it was minutes away from famous and vidid Mercato della Vucciria ,it was a walking distance to the many sight seeing destinations.
There is a nice , neat and stylish little terrace on the top floor- by the managers office, where breakfast is served. There is a good spot to chill out in the mornings and afternoons and talk to other fellow travelers.
The owner is friendly, and the main manager ( I forgot the name sorry!) will tell you about the best "down to earth " local eateries- places you won't find in any guide book!
Free WiFi and baby cots ( if needed) available.
