We recently stayed in the Ambasciatori for three nights. It's centrally located in the old part of the city, an easy walk to everything we wanted to see. We timed the walk to the central station where we caught the airport bus: 6 minutes. The hotel is in a large, lovely building and the rooms reflect an era gone by while being updated and very comfortable. Our room was very spacious with a large window that let in good light but with shutters that could keep out the light. the bathroom was HUGE with a double shower, bidet, lots of storage space and lots of hot water with good towels. The draw, of course, is the magnificent roof terrace where you eat breakfast, can go to relax and read during the day, have a drink in the evening or eat dinner in the restaurant. We ate dinner in the restaurant when we first came as we were too tired to go out and discover something perfect our first night. We ordered a light dinner for Italy, a salad and an antipasti and felt quite comfortable doing that and not getting a 5 course dinner. It was more than quite good. The breakfast is the highlight. Looking out at Palermo, seeing the domes of the churches and the mountains in the background was really special. The breakfast was extensive and very good. The only downside at all was that two of the employees stood sentinel over the food, it made us feel a bit uncomfortable. We felt this hotel combined the best of old and new; we'd go back in a flash!

It's the place to stay in Palermo: great, friendly, accommodating staff; a spare, classy room; easy access to the city and to the bus/train station; and perhaps best of all, a bar/restaurant on a gorgeous rooftop terrace overlooking the city. Next time we're in Palermo, we'll be back at the Ambasciatori.

Awesome Service. Great views. Nice breakfast. . View and rooms, and location worth it. Clean, and breakfast is perfect. Could have sworn I booked breakfast included, but they said I didn't. No big deal, was on 3.00 euros per person anyway.

Room Tip: Make sure you choose breakfast included when booking.

This hotel is close to the port and the train station. We had a lovely room with a balcony. Free wifi and lots of space. Staff are really responsive - we had trouble with our safe on arrival and they fixed it immediately.
Breakfast is good, and is served on the beautiful roof terrace. View is breath taking. It gets the sun in the afternoons and was lovely to sit there with a book and glass of wine before dinner.
Lift is quirky and a little retro - but works perfectly well.
Good location for seeing the town, and room surprisingly quiet when shutters closed.
Really liked this hotel.

Room Tip: We had a room with a balcony which was quite noisy when shutters open, but lovely to feel atmosphere of the city. Quiet at night with shutters closed though.

The view from the roof is breath taking. It is almost worth staying here for the view in the morning and you can take a drink to the roof at night.
Rooms OK. Wifi patchy.
The lift is eccentric.
Good location for the city and the train station. Couple of v good cafés nearby and a couple of excellent, earthy bars 5 mins walk away.
The staff all speak good English.
Palermo is an excellent place to spend 4-5 days.
