Not 100 percent up to Mercure standard, but still a good deal with its central location, large rooms and nice breakfast. Plenty of nice restaurants arround. Staff okay. Only minus: no wifi in the rooms (didn't think that still exists at such an international four star chain)
A lot of people on business were staying when we there, pretty much what you expect from a chain hotel in the centre of a city. Bedrooms were spacious, clean and serviced daily, the price was great, staff attentive and the breakfast included hot eggs and bacon. The Mercure is in a great location with all the sights within walking distance and Via Roma a five minute walk.
The location was great and the hotel was quite nice inside The rooms were spacious and it was a good experience all around. A buffet breakfast was included which was just fair. One can walk to the sea port as well as the other attractions.
Most of the city attractions are in the historical city centre nearby the harbour. If you like walking a good tip is to book Mercure in central Palermo. The hotel is part of the Accor hotel. It is always a safe alternative as you know what to expect from a big hotel chain.
