We were with a group from the Arts Society. Most ot the others seemed to enjoy the experience, and whilst we didn't manage to see their rooms they must have had rooms that had been upgraded. Ours, on the other hand, was furnished in furniture that was dark, old and tired. The TV didn't work til we had a member of staff see to it, the plug in the bathroom wash basin was stuck open so any water run into it ran out immediately. Then the food (breakfast only) was also poor, the best thing about it was the toaster which, compared with other hotels we stayed at, worked. The bed was excellent. I used to own a Best Western Hotel,, this one didn't shape up to their standards. OH! and the carpets on our corridor weren't vacuumed in three days.
