Located a few blocks from the railway station and within the area of the major tourist attractions. This hotel is somewhere between a hotel and a hostel, mostly because it occupies only a couple floors within a larger building having other hotels in it. Otherwise it has all the services of a basic hotel. If you are out late, the front door to the street will be closed and you must buzz the hotel button to be let into the lower level. An elevator and stairs are available to get up to the hotel floor. The building is older and has been converted for this purpose using the existing layout. Makes for some odd shaped but fully functional rooms. We had a room with a balcony looking out onto Via Roma so noise could be an issue if you left it open. The breakfast was basic but good, and the staff were very pleasant and accommodating.

Converted 5 story building 2 blocks from the main bus/train station. It was ok, staff was attentive and helpful. The room was decent, mattress was a bit hard and the bathroom was extremely small. I was sitting on the stool and halfway under the sink at the same time which was a bit strange. The shower was barely large enough, I kept bumping the on /off valve while showering and shut off the water a few times.
Not really complaining it's just the way it is in a converted building made to work as a hotel. I would not stay at this hotel again but more of a personal preference than a real knock on the hotel.

Room Tip: Don't stay in 401, it's next to the reception area you hear all the foot traffic.

Just 5 minutes walk from the staion and up the ancient lift to the second floor of a beautiful old building and you are there. The hotel section has been restored with effect. The high ceilings and beautiffully scuptured decorative cornices etc are a delight. The room itself, though, is basic; terazzo floor but bits of authentic marble leading to the miniature but delightful balcony. The bed looked dispiritng yet was surprisingly comfortable. Adequate room but without the touch of luxury. The night's sleep was peaceful;the old walls are no doubt thick enough for sound proofing. A good 1 or 2 night stopover for good location at a reasonable price. Reasonable continental breakfast and free wifi. Helpful suggestions for a restaurant; Trattoria Di Ciccio where the food was absolutely delicious. The surrounding area was full of interest.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back away from street noise.

I liked the hotel del centro. The staff was terrific and the location perfect and the breakfast quite adequate. There is nothing luxurious about this place--simple furniture and sparse rooms but the up side is that it was an excellent value. The hotel is located on a main street near lots of very good restaurants and is only about 2 blocks from the big RR station where the airport bus pulls in. One night there was tango dancing on a roped off section of the street. One strange thing is that there are 2 hotels in the same building, with this hotel lobby on the second floor via an elevator in the main entrance hall. There is only one computer off the lobby but that was never a use problem. My attitude, it should be said, is that I don't spend much time in a room when in a city with lots to see.

Room Tip: You might ask for a room in the rear==a bit nicer and larger, but noise was never a problem.

The hotel is in a good central location and at first glance the entrance and reception is very nice. However we got a room with a horrible interior view to the wall, very old and limited furniture and tiny, rusty bathroom. It was very difficult to squeeze through to to shower from the toilet tub. It was fairly clean but rusty and old. We stayed there for only 1 night which was OK but I would only recommend it for someone with a very low budget and those who don't mind the lack of comfort.

This hotel is well located close to the train station. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large and clean, double glazing reduced road noise but ear plugs were needed to sleep.
Wi-fi was available but intermittently did not work- staff fixed this after a time.
We had hired a car and parked without incident in the side street (for free), otherwise the hotel has parking available for 15 euro per night. Driving in Sicily is somewhat hair raising though- and probably should be avoid unless you are familiar with left hand drive!
Breakfast was OK. Pretty good crossaints. Yoghurt, average processed cheese and ham and sausages, scrambled eggs; cakes and bread were available too. The fruit was old and of a poor quality.

This was a reliable place to stay and pleasantly clean compared to the filth of Palermo, the staff too were friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Away from the main road.

Located on Via Roma. Next to Palermo Centrale train station and bus station on piazza Cesare ,is very good for touring and sightseeing in Palermo. Numerous good restaurants, shops and farmacies next to the hotel. The buffet breakfast could be a little better. Room confortable with everything you need. Everybody were nice and helpful.
