We had so many excellent meals in Sicily that it is hard to single one out, but our dinner at Al Fondaco del Conte was truly memorable. Everything was truly first class, including the soothing decor and the friendly and helpful staff. The complimentary appetizers and cocktail were a very nice touch, and the antipasti were fantastic. We were 6 people and we had an assortment of pasta, fish and meat dishes, and all were superb. Even with 2 bottles of very good wine, the bill was less than Eur 25 per person.

If you are in Palermo, you must go here. It is a little off the beaten path, but seek it out.

We went here after reading the glowing reviews below & were not at all disappointed.

Food-wise we would recommend the large plate of local antipasti and the bocconcini di tonno al ragu as secondo. The stand-out dish for us was a primo of home-made ravioli filled with a light potato/fish mix & served in a prawn sauce which was full of garlicky goodness and a hint of chilli - very good cooking. Try a glass of limoncello at the end - they use lemons from their own garden to make this and the sorbet - really tasty.

The brother and sister who run the restaurant are very nice & helpful. The chef is the second brother and came out during every course for feedback on the food - a nice touch reflecting his obvious passion for what he does. This was further displayed when we were saying goodbye & were ushered in for an unexpected tour of the kitchen - lots of fun seeing where everything is pulled together.

All in all we would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Palermo - super local food in a relaxed atmosphere & at about €35 a head for 3 courses with wine it really is great value.

Grazie a tutti per una cena buonissima!

Our best dinner in our entire vacation! The staff is extremely nice and even the cook came out to greet us. Since we were the last ones, the owner gave us a ride to our hotel! It turns out that it is a family-managed restaurant and I believe that is why everybody is so friendly.

The food is just amazing, we are going to remember having dinner in that place for ever!

Don't get there too late (no later than 9:30 pm) and make a reservation, otherwise you might not get served, since they close quite late and it gets full.

This restaurant was recommended to us and we loved it so much we went back again the very next night! Great friendly service and wonderful, fresh Sicilian dishes at reasonable prices. Our favorites were the handmade ravioli and the squid ink pasta. Bellissimo!

My husband and I had two evening meals at this restaurant during our visit to Palermo.
The owner of the B& B where we stayed recommended it, and as it was in the neighborhood, we gave it a try. The food was great, all local products, all Sicilian, and the staff is wonderful.
We had so much fun talking with them and learned a lot about Sicily and Italy from them. When I accidentally left a book at the restauant, the waiter and his sister brought it to the B & B!
This place is one of my best memories of Sicily!
