we really want to thank you for choosing our hotel and for taking the time to post such a long and detailed review.
Firstly, we would like to reply to the positive things you said about us and then we will argue about your critics, since we had no the opportunity to do it during your stay.
We are glad to hear that the hotel location met your expectations, that you really enjoyed our rich and delicious breakfast and that you found the staff very friendly.
It saddens us to hear that you had some difficulties to climb the stairs and that you found the elevator tiny and old, but we may assure you that it is really safe.
It also saddens us to read that the room's floor was not really clean. It seems us strange, because our housekeeping staff always pays lot of attention to the hygiene and the cleaning. However, our excuses.
We are sorry to hear that you didn't find the extra blanket in your wardrobe and that you didn't receive some extra towels. It seems us really strange and we really cannot understand the reason why you didn't call the reception to report the problem and ask for help. Our reception is open 24 hours per day and our staff is always pleased to help our guests and to assure them a lovely stay.
As regards the bathroom, we would like you to know that there is just one toilet, the other one is a bidet ("a low, basinlike bathroom fixture, usually with spigots, used for bathing the genital and perineal areas"). Furthermore, it is not true that you cannot move inside the bathroom or that you cannot stretch your arms. As regards the shower, we are sorry to learn that you took it with the doors opened (it was really not necessary) and that you was not able to wash your hair, we truly don't understand the reason why. We always give the toilet amenities (soap, intimate soap, shampoo, shower cap) and every shower has a place for them (and, of course, we have an hair dryer too). Even in this case, why didn't you call the reception? If we were you, we would do it. This is the reason why we find your review not entirely true and honest.
As regards internet, we offer a free wi-fi connection, that works very well everywhere in the building and we also make available a free internet point equipped with a computer and a printer. We are sorry to hear that you was not able to communicate to your family and friends and to assure them that you was safe. However, you had lots of possibility to do that: you could have used the wi-fi, or the free computer available to the guests, or the telephone that was in your room or your smartphone (internet is very useful, but fortunately it is not the only way to communicate).
Finally, it truly hurts us to read such an unkind comment about our staff, who is very friendly and professional. The receptions guys in particular are able to speak English and French and someone is also able to speak Spanish and German. Furthermore, they know very well the tourist attractions and they are always pleased to offer a concierge service. If things really were so, of course they would not be here, don't you think?
Finally, we are sorry to hear that you would never return, but frankly we love persons who say the truth, persons who give constructive criticism and you didn't, so maybe it's better this way.
