Description: Old Town, creative cuisine Tradition and innovation, experience and continuous search for new combinations. The creative cuisine is never out of nowhere, the ingredients and techniques of traditional cuisine, especially of a land rich in flavors such as ours Sicily, are always a starting point, a cultural background, a continuous path that leads to new experiences flavor. Contrasts that come out is often concealed the success of an unforgettable recipe. Three rooms - a sort of "projection of an internalized landscape" according to the description of the author of the project - will welcome you in a comfortable and seductive where the sight, taste, smell, and feel of our dishes will involve in a contamination of the senses, even your hearing and enjoying them... you can hear "The Eighth Note".

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Delicious food with great atmosphere. Nice wine selection with fair prices for the courses. We liked it!

We went to L'Ottava Nota at the suggestion of our hosts at 28 Butera, as it was across the street, and were completely surprised at our dining experience. The menu is not the typical tourist menu but a fine selection of serious and delicious Sicilian fare. The service was outstanding, the prices were reasonable, the ambiance was romantic, and the other diners appeared to be pleased as well. The "l'ottava Nota ranks with the best of the restaurants we visited during our 2 week driving tour all around and into the major cities and towns in Sicily. The only drawback is parking and lack of a view due to location, however, in balance, it was worth it. .

By the time we visited this restaurant we were getting a little tired of the usual tourist directed menus. L'Ottavo Notta was a delight. We went there for lunch as it was a long walk from our hotel but near the Botanical Gardens which we were visiting.
The food, wine & service was excellent & for once I enjoyed Sicilian bread (warm & fresh unlike the usual dried-out offering) served with a mushroom cream.
The sad thing is that for most of our lunch we were the only customers. I hope this was just a bad day as the restaurant deserved more.
Interestingly we paid little more for this exceptional meal than we paid for the mediocre ones we had elsewhere.

We were staying at 28 Butera so eating here was perfect and so was the food. The porcini were just arriving, so we had pasta with porcini, and porcini carpaccio . OMG, a wonderful meal! How anyone could not give a stellar review is unexplainable . This is a real treat and being a chef myself, I know well prepared food. These guys have got it! A perfect and memorable meal. Will be back next visit to Palermo and 28 Butera!

After 2 weeks in Sicily, My husband and I were in the mood for a non traditional local food. After reading the reviews in Tripadvisor, we decided to try L' Ottava Nota.
The restaurant has modern decoration and menu. However, it didn't delivered what it promised. Some of the options on the menu, as the duck, weren't available. When my husband ordered the lamb with potatoes and onions, he was informed that the option did not include potatoes anymore. When the plate arrived, it was a huge disappoitment: the lamb had so much fat that my husband could barely eat. I had a tuna tartar which was good and a ok pasta with funghi.
Service, although kind, was chaotic: only 2 waiters to serve everybody. The 4 men in the table besides ours decided to leave the restaurant after waiting more than 20 minutes to order the food (the waiter never came). Our desert wine was served with the check, after we had eaten desert.
Palermo is not a city with good restaurants - and this was no exception.
