Description: Old Town, creative cuisine Tradition and innovation, experience and continuous search for new combinations. The creative cuisine is never out of nowhere, the ingredients and techniques of traditional cuisine, especially of a land rich in flavors such as ours Sicily, are always a starting point, a cultural background, a continuous path that leads to new experiences flavor. Contrasts that come out is often concealed the success of an unforgettable recipe. Three rooms - a sort of "projection of an internalized landscape" according to the description of the author of the project - will welcome you in a comfortable and seductive where the sight, taste, smell, and feel of our dishes will involve in a contamination of the senses, even your hearing and enjoying them... you can hear "The Eighth Note".

“Overrated and overpriced”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

After 2 weeks in Sicily, My husband and I were in the mood for a non traditional local food. After reading the reviews in Tripadvisor, we decided to try L' Ottava Nota.
The restaurant has modern decoration and menu. However, it didn't delivered what it promised. Some of the options on the menu, as the duck, weren't available. When my husband ordered the lamb with potatoes and onions, he was informed that the option did not include potatoes anymore. When the plate arrived, it was a huge disappoitment: the lamb had so much fat that my husband could barely eat. I had a tuna tartar which was good and a ok pasta with funghi.
Service, although kind, was chaotic: only 2 waiters to serve everybody. The 4 men in the table besides ours decided to leave the restaurant after waiting more than 20 minutes to order the food (the waiter never came). Our desert wine was served with the check, after we had eaten desert.
Palermo is not a city with good restaurants - and this was no exception.

“Unexpected delight”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

Walking home today from Palazzo Abatellis we chanced upon L'Ottava Noto... What good fortune!
A perfect lunch, superb menu, intimate dining and service. The nicest meal we have had since our arrival in Sicily a week ago. The tuna tartare with avocado was fantastic and risotto with leek and tuna caviar perfectly executed. Well with a return visit!

“I didn't like Palermo but will go back for this restaurant as well!”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

So we got to Palermo and in comparison to other parts of Sicily that we've been to this wasn't our favourite...thanks to trip advisor we read the reviews about this restaurant, yes it isn't in the greatest location, no view, its small but the food is divine, the mix of flavours and the value for money is excellent. This was my favourite restaurant in Sicily.

“Best dinner in Sicily”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

I went there with my friend for our last night in Sicily.
We had seen the reviews and decided to go even if it was a bit more expensice than our usual nice dinner place.
We were lucky enough to get a table despite the fact that we ha not booked a table and followed 2 hours of heaven!
Our waiter was really nice, gave us some advise about what to have, and the food was simply delicious. The dishes were sophisticated but the perfect tasty Italian ingredients. We were full and happy at the end without being stuffed.
The good surprise was well was that the bill was not even too bad (compared to the same in Paris or Dublin) for the quality of the service and food.
I would definitely advise anybody to book a table !

“High quality/Nice vibe”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

The food was great! The service was a bit slow since there was only one guy serving the whole joint, but it wasn't that big of deal... especially since the food killed it! I think everything we got was a hit. A gem of a restaurant in a frightening, mafia-ridden town...
