After 2 weeks in Sicily, My husband and I were in the mood for a non traditional local food. After reading the reviews in Tripadvisor, we decided to try L' Ottava Nota.
The restaurant has modern decoration and menu. However, it didn't delivered what it promised. Some of the options on the menu, as the duck, weren't available. When my husband ordered the lamb with potatoes and onions, he was informed that the option did not include potatoes anymore. When the plate arrived, it was a huge disappoitment: the lamb had so much fat that my husband could barely eat. I had a tuna tartar which was good and a ok pasta with funghi.
Service, although kind, was chaotic: only 2 waiters to serve everybody. The 4 men in the table besides ours decided to leave the restaurant after waiting more than 20 minutes to order the food (the waiter never came). Our desert wine was served with the check, after we had eaten desert.
Palermo is not a city with good restaurants - and this was no exception.
