We visited on a day when the Palazzo was not open but the Capella Palatina was well worth the visit. We took our time, between tour groups, to look at the mosaics and kept seeing more. A must see place when visiting Palermo.

The only tickets on offer included a video tour which was rubbish. Only the chapel was open when the at the entrance it stated other areas like the royal apartments were open.

The chapel is spectacular but the way everything is sold and presented is not acceptable. Most of the palace is reserved for government officials.

Queues can get long in the summer but even so it is worth the wait. We used it to fill in time waiting for the bus to Monreal at no. 7 stop for 15.00

This was one of the most incredible chapels I've ever seen. You could easily spend 1-2 hours just gazing at the walls and ceiling. The work is so beautiful and detailed.
