Great reviews from others, but we felt ripped off! Most it was closed to visitors due to some building works (but they didn't reduce the ticket prices!) Saw (yet another) chapel and some Roman walls - neither were in any way spectacular. It may be worth it if the rest is open, but don't waste your money otherwise!

Go early in the morning so you can admire the beautiful mosaics found inside the Palazzo's "Capella" without a lot of people. There is not much in the Palazzo that can be viewed as most of it is being used by the government for their offices.

CP is amazing & not to be missed, but I had a bad feeling about the way this corner of Palermo is being "milked"... The rest of the Palazzo was shut 'for renovation', but the discount on admission was minimal. Lots of 'public servants' sitting around & chatting, but lots of things needing to be done in the information centre, etc. Considering all that, the CP is in a fantastic state of preservation!

First we walked there and signs funnelled tourists on to the road, no footpath, and past the garbage bins for half of Palermo. 9 euro each to see the palace and church....church open but palace closed! No one cared!

The gem of Palermo! the Capella Palatina is absolutely stunning - truly a mosaic-clad jewel. Its interior is covered in mosaics of gold and other vibrant colours depicting scenes from the Old and New Testaments. The inlaid marble floors and Arabic-style decorations weer also very beautiful, as was the "honeycomb " wooden ceiling. We could have lingered for much longer and wanted to re-enter once we had left. Worth visiting Palermo just to see this gorgeous site.
