We booked at the last minute a complete package, and got a good deal. Room although not very large were confortable with a very nice view over the roofs of the old town of Palermo.
Within walking distance of about everything to be seen in the city. The managment and personnel were very nice and helpful. We were there in March, low season and it was very calm. Restaurant is nice and a little expensive but this is to be expected in such a large and luxury setting.
If you are a heavy WIFI user better ask to test your room before getting in, in some place like ours on the 4th floor there was no signal except in the corridor.

Centrally located on walking distance to all major city sights (although the area is not really attractive). Impressive atrium. Nice room, not very large but with contemporary comfort and amenities. Friendly and helpful staff. Initially the room airco was not working, but one call to the reception solved the problem. Excellent breakfast (certainly compared to the regional standards). Good, but not very sophisticated, meals.

This hotel is a haven, and well worth the money - for my family and me, it felt like a once-in-a-lifetime stay to be welcomed into such a beautiful building. For the sleep quality alone, it is priceless: the beds are ultra comfortable, and most probably uniquely in Palermo city, the hotel overlooks no busy roads, as it nestles in a square just off the principal streets.

Handy for everything, you can find sights and attractions, and restaurants from 'posh' to 'popular', all within a very short walk. Don't miss hanging out at the bars in the 'squares' at night: the market piazzas heave with good-natured crowds, music, street-cooked seafood and thousands of scooters! The little gathering squares are lively - and noisy! - until sometimes 5.00am, so it's a real comfort to know your own bedroom doesn't overlook them.

The staff were so welcoming and helpful, I can't understand why anyone could find anything to complain about. Breakfast was beautifully fresh and varied - on-the-bone cured hams, fresh cheeses, and other continental delicacies (best go elsewhere if you want monster-American or English fried breakfasts!).

I will definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: The hotel does not overlook any really noisy streets, so I reckon most rooms are restful. Some rooms...

This hotel was absolutely beautiful. Great location for walking to the historial area of Palermo. The room was excellent, and we enjoyed the open air lobby with the retractable roof for enjoying drinks after a day of touring. The staff was polite, and very friendly, and service was quick. Our breakfast was delicious and dinner excellent. Great place to stay for visiting the sites in Palermo!

We stayed here in January, when most hotels were closed. The buffet breakfast each morning, included, was EXCELLENT. Really amazing. The room we had, was really 2 rooms. A sitting room and a bedroom, with a 3 area bath area. Very clean, easy access to the city...well you are right there afterall.
Palermo is rough around the edges...but so interesting. My husband could not wait to turn in our rental car....crazy tiny streets. We had to park finally in a square, and pay some dummy a couple of Euro to 'watch' our car, while we walked to find the entrance to the hotel!!

This hotel's location is perfect to visit the historical area of Palermo: close to the central via Vittorio Emanuele, via Roma, via Maqueda, and a few minutes from the seafront, the city's main attractions, the Opera house and other venues. The hotel entrance is on a small lane which may look seedy at first sight but is not; police cars patrol the area which is actually safer than most places.
The rooms are very large (larger than the Italian average), clean, comfortable and well equipped; so are the bathrooms. My room (on an upper floor) was very quiet.
Breakfast, though not extraordinary, is a on good standard (cakes, croissants, cereals, jams, yoghurts, hot eggs and sausages, a selection of cheeses, parma ham and salami); it is served in the large restaurant salon. The hotel is very ample and has a wonderful inner patio (formerly the cloister of a 16th-century convent); it is wi-fied on the ground floor for free; complimentary newspapers can be found in the many sitting rooms; there's also a fitness center. The hotel restaurant serves good food, yet there are many excellent restaurants in the area that can be visited first.
There is no hotel garage; so if you arrive by car, parking in the vicinity may be complicated (perhaps it' d be good to contact the concierge for advice beforehand).
The hotel's managers and personnel were courteous and helpful (I do not agree with some of the reviewers who lamented the porters' lack of politeness).
In my opinion, the hotel fully deserves its four stars.

I thought it hotel was unique..with its open air lobby and interesting rooms. It seemed in a gritty location but was actually very convenient to many Palermo sights..and good restaurants. Actually one of the nicer areas of Palermo.
